Please
be aware
that all GODs Feast Days, including the New Moons,
are determined by the New
Moon Crescents Sighted from the Middle East.
Often
times, the Moon Crescent is seen in the States before enough of it is visible
from
the Jerusalem/Jordan/Middle East causing Israelites in the States to start
the Feast Days a day BEFORE
Israelites in the Land of Israel. As you
can see,
this makes no sense. Hence, it is our suggestion that everyone
await
the New Moon Crescent Sighting
from Israel/Jordan before starting GODs Feast Days.
Then Jonathan said to David, To
morrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed,
because thy seat will be empty.
So David
hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come,
the king sat him down to eat meat.
So
Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the
second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father
had done him shame.
I Samuel 20:18,24,34
More
importantly, unlike some who start the New Month with the Full Moon, we begin
each New Month with the SIGHTING of the New Moon Crescent. The above passage indicates that the New Moon
starts with the First Day of the Month and not the Fifteenth Day of the
Hebrew Month, at which time the Full Moon can always be observed. When counting anything, the practice is
always to start with 1, i.e., the First Day of the Month or rather the first
SIGHTING of the LIGHTED Sign of the New Moon Crescent.
The
New Moon is not just any ordinary day.
It has great significance with Our GOD of Israel, as do all HIS Special
and Holy Days. From the New Moon
Crescents we determine the start of our Seasons, Days, and Years.
Also in
the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days,
and in the beginnings of your months, ye
shall blow with the trumpets
over your burnt offerings, and over the
sacrifices of your peace offerings;
that they may be to you for a memorial
before your God: I am the LORD your God.

We know that this is the year 2012 on the Gregorian Calendar, but
unfortunately, I do not know exactly what year it is on the Hebrew Calendar
since the time that the CREATOR chose Abram.
But I do know that we must recognize what the Holy ONE said in Exodus
12:2: This month shall be unto you the
beginning of months: it shall be the
first month of the year to you. Hence,
it seems feasible that at this COMMANDMENT, we should start to record the first
year. However, just for your
information, according to present day records, it is documented that Moses
lived around the 15th 13th centuries B.C.E (a gap of
200 years). Therefore, this knowledge
should be considered when reading history books.
<><><>
The purpose of this Hebrew Calendar is not only to provide
TORAH Readings and Scripture from the Old Testament throughout the year but
to also raise consciousness to the fact that being Israelites, we are Lawfully
bound to Our GOD and HIS Book of the Law to live and do it ALWAYS, as it is
written. I have also listed
additional Scriptural passages to remind us of all the evils of our forefathers
who caused our captivity with hopes that we will not repeat their sins against
Our Holy ONE of Israel. It should be
noted that from year to year, while producing this TORAH READINGS CALENDAR, I invariably add Scripture to embellish an
even greater light on GODs LAW and HIS WORD to HIS Prophets, as well, I revise some of what's written.
This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have
good success. Joshua 1:8
Hearken

THE BEGINNING OF MONTHS UNTO YOU
And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the
land of Egypt saying,
This month shall be unto you the beginning of months:
it shall be the first month of the year to you.
Exodus 12:1,2
And God said, Let there be lights in

and let
them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Genesis 1:14
It is no coincidence
that Genesis 1:14 states that the LIGHTS in the Heavens shall be the SIGNS for SEASONS, DAYS, and YEARS. It
is no coincidence that each NEW SEASON, NEW FIRST DAY of each month, and each
NEW YEAR (BEGINNING OF MONTHS UNTO YOU) all manifest via the LIGHTED SUN. These three things evolved at the WORD OF
GOD at the time of CREATION. .
THUS, IT SHOULD NOT
COME AS A SURPRISE THAT THE BEGINNING OF MONTHS STARTS IN THE SPRING WITH THE
CALLING OF THE SPRING EQUINOX,
I.E., WHEN THE SUN IS OVER THE EQUATOR!
***
HOW
THIS LAWKEEPERS HEBREW CALENDAR IS DETERMINED:
There are in fact other Hebrew Israelite Calendars in
existence, but I like to think of this one as being rather unique. It is based totally on GODs Book of the Law
and begins TORAH Readings with Exodus 12th Chapter in correlation
with the New Moon Sighting which identifies the start of Spring/Abib the
Beginning of Months unto us (Exodus 12:2).
It provides TORAH Readings (the
First Five Books, respectively throughout the year) for each Seventh Day
Sabbath of Complete Rest, New Moon, and Holy Feast Day, excluding the Feast of Weeks, because the LAW does not denote a
particular date for this Feast Day as it does for the others. Therefore, rather than add to the LAW, the
observance of the Feast of Weeks is purposely left out. (More information on the Feast of Weeks
follows a few pages down.) This Hebrew
Calendar is also special in that it enlightens those who are new to the Truth
and who seriously seek to follow ONLY the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
(Exodus 3:15).
This OUR Hebrew Calendar starts with every Spring or Aviv/Abib at the New Moon Sighting for the
First Day of the New Year.
"Thou shalt keep the feast
of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I
commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it
thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall
appear before me empty:)"
Exodus 23:15
Thus, this Hebrew Calendar is
determined by the New Moon Sighting that
falls on or after the Spring equinox:
"The
path taken by the sun, however, is at an angle to the
equator. The noonday sun shines
directly on the equator on March 20th every year, and on that date,
night and day are each twelve hours long all over the Earth. This day is known as the vernal equinox,
since vernal comes from the Latin word for spring, and equinox from the Latin
word for equal night." Isaac
Asimov's Guide to Earth and Space, pp. 19
The
equinoxes are the two points of intersection between the ecliptic (the Sun's
apparent annual path) and the celestial equator (the equator of the CELESTIAL
SPHERE). The two moments in the year
when the Sun is exactly over the equator, and day and night are hence of equal
length, are the times of these equinoxes. In the Northern Hemisphere the vernal, or spring
equinox occurs about March 21, and the autumnal equinox occurs about
September 23. In the Southern Hemisphere the seasons are reversed. Grolier 1996
March (month), third month of the Gregorian calendar, according to the present calendar. March was the first
month of the Roman year, named after Mars, the god of war. In
Britain, until the Gregorian calendar was adopted in 1752, March was considered the first month with the legal year beginning on
March 25. The vernal or spring equinox occurs on March 20 or 21 (see Ecliptic). The
ENCARTA Encyclopedia (1999)
The use of the equinox enables us
to sustain a solar calendar in compliance with Genesis 1:14. If we use a date before the equinox we
would be creating a New Year before
one actually begins. Hence, the equinox
(observance March 19-21) serves as a checks and balance system to ensure that
we maintain a Hebrew Calendar that begins in the Spring
of every year, and that we observe Passover at the appointed time in its
season, which is in the first month of the year.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses in
the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second
year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
Let
the children of Israel also keep the passover
at his appointed season.
Numbers
9:2,3
We know that our Hebrew
New Year begins in the Spring of each year - for
this is the beginning of months unto
us, i.e., First Month, Second Month,
etc. We also know that the Hebrew New
Year falls in its season around the same time each year, depending upon the Sighting of the New Moon Crescent. Hence, it should be noted that this Hebrew
Calendar will not begin on the same day/date each year, and the reason is that
the New Moon Crescent falls on a different day every month and every year. That
being a given, each new Hebrew Calendar
year starts with the first Moon Crescent that falls on or after the so-called
spring equinox, which is the time when day and night are of equal lengths
- date being assuredly March 21, Jerusalem Time every year. Accordingly, because this Hebrew Calendar
follows each Moon Crescent, it is, therefore, a Solar(sun) / Lunar(moon) Calendar.
If
the CREATOR, the Holy ONE of Israel, took away the sun, there could be no
seasons or lighted phases of the moon.
If HE took away the moon, we would have no way of knowing when one month
would end and when another would begin.
Therefore, the New Moon Sighting (Crescent) is a most valuable
observable event in the Hebrew Israelite Way of Life..
And
God said, Let there be LIGHTS in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and
for days, and years: Genesis
1:14 (Caps. are mine.)
He [the CREATOR] appointed the moon
for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. Psalm 104:19
With this Hebrew Calendar, the
Spring Season begins at the Sighting of the New Moon on or after the spring
equinox! On this Hebrew Calendar, each
month lists three days for the New Moon Crescent Watch, which is when
we attempt to Sight the NM Crescent one of the LIGHTED Signs spoken of in
Genesis 1:14. And hopefully, Israelites
will take part in its watch, searching the western skies just above the horizon
to observe this appointed time.
Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days,
and in the beginnings of your months, ye
shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices
of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your
God: I am the LORD your God. Numbers 10:10
offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new
moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded
unto them, continually before the LORD:
I Chronicles 23:31
And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings,
and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he
shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering,
and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Ezekiel 45:17
Some Hebrew Israelites used to
follow this same process for determining the New Year, except if they thought
the Crescent Moon appeared too soon or too far from a designated date in March,
then they would manipulate their calendar. However, they have since changed this
practice, as they realized that it would have been wrong to manipulate their
calendar to cause the New Year to fall at their discretion. In my opinion this is just as bad as what the
Jewish Rabbinate does with preventing the Day of Atonement to fall on a certain
day of the week..
The New Moon Crescent of the New
Year should be able to flow as the CREATOR permits it to do and without our
tampering with the Solar/Lunar Calendar AND without looking for barley to
determine the start of the New Year, which, unfortunately, is now the practice
of the Calendar Coalition, who used to manipulate their calendar. The Calendar Coalition is a group of
Israelites who established a Calendar based on a Barley Search.
Waiting
for the observance of mature barley before calling the Hebrew New Year is not
what we have been Commanded to do, but rather this
method is adding to GODs WORD.
According to Genesis 1:14, we must use the Lights in the Heavens to
determine our Seasons, Days, and Years, and this method does not entail a
search for mature or green ears of barley.
The CREATOR's means of reckoning time entails watching for the Signs
in the Heavens that HE put in place specifically so that we will have no
problems recognizing our Seasons, Days, and Years. And with this information, we are able to
observe GOD's Holy Feast Days at the appointed times, in their seasons.
Yes, for real, as ridiculous as it may seem, some Israelites
depend on a Barley Sighting to call the start of the New Year. This method can prove to be a faulty and
inconsistent manner of determining such an important event if barley is not found.
Suppose because of a drought, there is no barley, or suppose because the
temperatures are so warm during the winter months that the barley appears in
February (as happened in 2003), do we start the Passover observance dependent
on this early sighting of barley? Of
course NOT! Obviously, the use of the
spring equinox serves as a better and more reliable indicator of Abib/Aviv, the
Spring Season, i.e., the beginning of months unto us! And we cannot rule out the mature barley that
exists but goes unnoticed. This would be
a definite problem for those on the annual search for barley.
We
cannot afford to follow the inventions of our hearts but to follow only the
WORD of Our GOD of Israel, and right now all we have for establishing a Hebrew
Calendar is Genesis 1:14 for determining our Seasons, Days, and Years. So, we may as well work with it intelligently
and with civility. The beginning of time
(Seasons, Days, and Years) started in the First Chapter of Genesis, and this is
where we need to be focused. Our CREATOR
GOD gave good examples of how we were to reckon the 24-hour day, e.g., the
evening and the morning were the First Day
the evening and the morning were the
Second Day, etc. Likewise, HE designated
use of the sun, moon, and even the stars to determine days, seasons, months,
and years.
Nevertheless,
some Israelites are still adamant about searching for mature barley before
calling the Hebrew New Year. We are
supposed to be wise from keeping GODs LAW, so how can we ignore Genesis 1:14
for "barley", which has nothing to do with "Lights" in the
Firmament for establishing a Hebrew Calendar that is so important to our
Spirituality. Using barley and not the
LIGHTS in the Heavens is analogous with using the groundhog to see if there
will be six more weeks of winter.
Seriously, think about it!
Every
Brother who stands by the Barley Search for the Hebrew New Year justifies
this assumed method by making a connection with barley (green young ears) and
Israels agriculture.
Well,
this, too, makes no sense, as the Nation of Israel did not get involved with
crops and grains (green/young ears) until after the 40-year period in the
Wilderness. During the 40 years in the
Wilderness, the Holy ONE had the Israelites WANDERING constantly from one place
to another. Therefore, agriculture
cannot serve as evidence for the use of a Barley Search for the beginning of
months, unto the Israelites, because in the Wilderness, there was nothing even
to suggest that any cultivation was taking place. And to even make mention of agriculture to
prove a Barley Search, is not only out of the question, but the notion is
completely without merit. We cannot
prove a Barley Search for our Hebrew New Years by a means (agriculture) that
existed AFTER the Israelites left out of the Wilderness. Therefore, AGAIN, we must use that which
makes sense. We must use what we have
been Commanded to use:
And
God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and
years: Genesis 1:14
Not
only that, but the drought in the Wilderness prevented barley growth and any
other kind of growth, as the Holy ONEs Plan was to feed the Nation of Israel
Manna HIMSELF in order to prove them to see if they would keep HIS LAW or
not.
the
LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house
of bondage; Who led thee through that
great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and
drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the
rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy
fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to
do thee good at thy latter end;
Deuteronomy 8:14 16
Neither
said they, Where is the LORD that
brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness,
through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the
shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man
dwelt? Jeremiah 2:6
Yet
I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but
me: for there is no saviour beside me. I did know thee in the wilderness, in the
land of great drought. Hosea 13:4,5
Therefore,
it is not at all likely the Israelites used a Barley Search during the forty
(40) years they were wandering in the Wilderness to determine each New Year, as
that would contradict the existence of a drought in the above passages, as well
as the use of only Manna to eat, to prove the Israelites.
Then
said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and
the people shall go out and gather a
certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my
law, or no. Exodus 16:29
Unfortunately,
we, Israelites, still have not learned to walk in YAHs LAW, even with
Commandments that are clear as crystal to do, and this has been OUR PROBLEM
ever since Our SAVIOR chose us for HIS Covenant People.
However,
my question is, If there were a drought in the Wilderness and an absence of
barley and any other produce to eat, then how did the Israelites determine the
start of each New Year? My wisdom tells
me that they calculated the New Moon Crescent Sighting, just as did David (I
Samuel 20:5), according to what's written in Genesis 1:14, of course.
Another
component the Calendar Coalition uses for its Calendar is the Leap
Year. Leap
years have no place in Hebrew/Israelite Culture and are an invention of
Gentiles, for making their fabricated calendars jibe with the CREATORs Solar
and Lunar Systems. With the Hebrew
Calendar established by using ONLY the LIGHTS in the Heavens (Genesis 1:14),
the sun and the New Moon Crescent, there is absolutely no reason for a
contrived leap year, which can only develop a hybrid calendar at best. By the
way, Julius Caesar is the father of the Leap Year.
I
truly pray that we will come together on GODs Book of the Law and HIS WORD to
HIS Prophets, as well as our Hebrew New Year without disdain for people who
dispute ideals that do not correlate with what THUS SAITH THE LORD. At some point, we are to take our places as
the People of the Covenant who will know and be about nothing but living and
doing GODs LAW without adding to or taking from it but rather Fearing ONLY Our
REDEEMER to be the Righteous Remnant that HE will call. And those of us endeavoring to meet this goal
are going to be even stronger and more encouraged than ever to follow this MIGHTY
LAW - our Hebrew Way of Life and every iota.
Ye
shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD
your God.
Ye
shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. Leviticus 18:4,5
Therefore shall ye keep mine
ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were
committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD
your God. Leviticus 18:30
The

keeping of HIS LAW!
THE ASHKENAZI-JEWISH CALENDAR:
It
must be understood that under no circumstances does this TORAH READINGS
Calendar follow the doctrine of the White Jews or their religion, Judaism,
which is based on the teachings of the Talmud. Their Calendar months begin with the Dark
Phases of the moon or whats also called the concealed moon and the
conjunction. Thus, this concealed
moon cannot be used as a Sign in the heavens to determine anything, as one
cannot see it. However, this concealed
moon enables White Jews to manipulate their calendar and to deceive those of
us who desire to serve and worship the Holy ONE of Israel on HIS Holy Feast
Days and in their seasons, as HE has Commanded of
us. This The LawKeepers
TORAH READINGS CALENDAR adheres to Genesis 1:14.
Tribute to
the New Moon Revised:
The service of this solar/lunar
calendar of TORAH READINGS is by definition using the
LIGHTS of the sun and moon, according to Genesis 1:14, to number the days
of each month. And the dark phases of
the moon cooperatively and conveniently provide a break between the
months. If there were no dark phases of
the moon, we would have a tough time determining when
one month ended and when another would begin.
Hence, because the Commandment is to use the Lights in the Heavens for
Signs for seasons, days, and years, the New Moon Crescent is what provides us
with our first lights of each new month and these lights continue waxing and
waning until they are diminished to the dark phases. And then in two to three days, the New Moon
Crescent reappears again starting the First Day of another new month.
Realizing that even some
Israelites use the dark phase of the moon to call the new month, I would like
to add one obvious fact.
By definition, there can only be a New Moon, per se, after the
dark phase interval and when the New Moon Crescent reappears,
thus, we understand the concept of having a New moon.

[One
of the above four links should provide access to the Phases of the Moon.
However,
nothing beats an Eye Witness.]
If the dark phase of the moon
begins the First Day of the month, then when the New Moon Crescent is Sighted
that could approximately be as far into the month as the Fourth Day, i.e., the
appearance of the Light in the Heavens could possibly fall on the Fourth
Day. It makes no sense to start to count
the first or second dark phase of the moon as being the First Day of the month,
as this process disregards the use of the Light in the Heavens to determine
our days, as we are Commanded to do in Genesis
1:14. Consider what King David said in I
Samuel 20:24:
when the New Moon was come
He had to be speaking about the New Moon Crescent, as we are unable to
Sight the appearance of the dark phase or rather see it come.
Its the absence of seeing
the moon for forty-eight or more hours that enables us to identify the
approaching Crescent Sign in the Heavens (mentioned in Genesis 1:14) that
recognizes the moon as being New.
And upon Sighting this New Crescent we distinguish it as being the
New Moon and the time of the New Month, as well.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Hebrew New Year is also determined by the LIGHTS in the Heavens
and not by the sighting of barley.
For several years I have known that the White Jews (excluding the Karaites) use a pre-calculated
nineteen-year cycle of intercalation based on the Dark Phases or concealed moon, for the First Day of the month of
their Jewish Calendar. They do not
start their New Year with the search for mature barley, as do the Karaites, but
they do use leap years in order to maintain adjustments in their calendars.
The
Rabbinate does not use the lights in the firmament
for signs, and for seasons,
and for days, and years.
By their using the dark phases of the moon, then they are able to
manipulate their calendar to register the start of the month on whichever day
they choose. For example, The Day of Atonement will never fall on a Friday.
While all other fast days that fall on
the Sabbath in a particular year are postponed to Sunday, Yom Kippur
must be observed on its appointed day:
the tenth day of Tishri, as prescribed in the Bible. The
calendar was designed so that the tenth of Tishri should not fall on a Friday,
Sunday, or Tuesday.
If Yom Kippur were to fall on a Friday, it would be
impossible to prepare food for the Sabbath.
If it were to fall on a Sunday, it would be impossible to do on the
Sabbath all that is necessary to prepare for the fast. If it were to fall on a Tuesday, Hoshana Rabba would fall on the
Sabbath and the requirement that aravot (willows) be
beaten would not be able to be observed, for this would be a violation of the
Sabbath. THE JEWISH BOOK OF WHY,
page 241
What
thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou
shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 12:32
Tampering
with GODs Book of the Law is a very serious violation, and the above
Commandment proves that the Rabbinate defies GODs Ordinance by establishing
their own religious doctrine, when they are clearly adding to and taking from
GODs Law. And the above book
does not hesitate to inform readers of exactly how White religious Jews go
about doing this.
At this point, it should be noted that the beginning of
months unto us neither depends on the ripening of barley
nor the Dark Phases of the moon. Nowhere in the Law does the Holy ONE Command that we use the barley of the Land of
Israel to signify the start of the New Year but rather the Lights in the
Heavens for Seasons, Days, and Years! When the Holy ONE declared the beginning of
months down in Egypt, HE did not have anyone searching for barley not in
Egypt and not in Israel. Thus, any
calendar based on a Barley Search or on the Dark Phases of the moon, when
we are Commanded to use the Lights in the Heavens,
is in gross error and the use of either one of these methods is in violation of
GODs LAW and can only cause grave consequences in the observance of GODs Holy
Feast Days.
Being
Israelites, we must discern the right and lawful thing to do and not go with
the consensus and certainly not go with the White Jews if we know for a fact
that they manipulate their calendars. We are compelled to do that which we know to
be reliable, valid, and correct according to GODs LAW. At all times, in our Hebrew Way of Life, we
must use GODs LAW, as we weigh issues and make decisions and without adding to
and/or taking from GODs Righteous Ways.
And we must prove our decisions to be accurate and acceptable according
to GODs Book of the Law, as we choose one decision over another. This is wisdom.
To
the law and to the testimony:
if they speak not according to this
word,
it is because there is no light in
them.

THE FOLLOWING IS A SPECIAL REPORT THAT WILL HOPEFULLY SHED
MORE LIGHT ON THE ISSUE OF WHEN TO
START EACH NEW MONTH AND EACH NEW YEAR:
HOW
SHOULD ISRAELITES DETERMINE
THE START OF EACH NEW MONTH,
AND
WHEN IS THE HEBREW NEW YEAR
EXPECTED TO BEGIN?
He
appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his
going down.
Psalm 104:19
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be
for SIGNS, and for SEASONS, and for days, and YEARS:
Genesis 1:14
Thus
saith the LORD, which giveth
the sun for a light by day,
and the ordinances of the MOON
and of the stars for a LIGHT BT NIGHT [SIGN],
which divideth
the sea when the waves thereof roar;
The
LORD of hosts is his name:
If
those ordinances depart from before me, saith the
LORD,
then the seed of Israel also shall cease
from being a nation before me for ever.
Jeremiah 31:35,36
Not only is a New Month upon
us, but so also is a New Year and Passover, as well, and unfortunately, we are
still at odds concerning how Israelites are to determine the start of each New
Hebrew Month and our Hebrew New Year. For sure, it is our fault and not the fault
of the CREATOR that we dont realize the start of our months and years because
HE has certainly given us ample information in order for us to realize when to
start each new month and each Hebrew New Year.
There is not even the slightest suggestion that our forefathers suffered
this problem, so why do we?
Some
Israelites would say that The beginning of months is upon us upon finding
mature barley anywhere in Israel. I am
puzzled as to when to start looking for this barley, because when the months of
January and February are warmer than usual for this time of the year, barley
can be found anywhere in the country, especially in and near the Jordan
Valley. So, if mature barley is found in
February, are we to use the New Moon of that month to begin the Hebrew New
Year? I dont think so. In addition to that, consider the fact that
mature barley could be in existence but unseen or rather unfound for this most
important mission. Such a possibility
exists and therefore it also renders this concept of searching for mature
barley to determine the Hebrew New Year not only without credibility but
ill-advised, as well. And in the event
that there is a serious drought or a plague or locust that destroys or consumes
all the barley, well, what then? People
who depend on Barley Sighting will be in a pickle, thats what!
Thou
shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for
the locust shall consume it.
Deuteronomy 28:38
If there be dearth in the
land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers;
II
Chronicles 6:28
If
I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour
the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; II Chronicles 7:13
Those,
like myself who beg to differ with this Barley
Sighting concept, assert that neither barley nor any other plant can be a
factor in association with the start of our Hebrew New Year, as this method is
flawed and not practical. The key and
most important reason for rejecting Barley Sighting as basis for determining
the New Year is that the CREATOR GOD is clear on how to decide on our seasons,
days, and years. And neither barley nor
any other plant is mentioned as a means to do so.
And
God said, Let there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and
years: Genesis 1:14 [Caps. are mine.]
Now,
Ive been told that I do not understand this verse. The fact of the matter is that this verse
should be taken literally and without interpretation, as it certainly does not
need one. I view this verse as being crystal
clear, and to reject any part of it is to diminish from what the CREATOR has Commanded of us. If
we do not use the LIGHTS in the Heavens for SIGNS to determine our months,
then we are not just adding to and diminishing the Commandment in Genesis 1:14,
but we are changing GODs Ordinance. And
in doing so, we bring upon ourselves much confusion. Hence, we must accept whats written and use
the LIGHTS in the Heavens for SIGNS for our seasons, days, and years. The CREATOR GOD of Israel did not leave us
Psalm 104:19 for naught.
He
appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his
going down.
It
is my understanding from whats written in Genesis 1:14 that there are to be
LIGHTS in the Heavens for SIGNS. And I
am particularly reminded that these LIGHTS
are interpreted luminaries, of
which I do quite agree, as both the sun and the moon shine. However, the sun emits its own Light. And although the moon also shines, please
understand that it can only do so because of the suns reflection that causes
it to shine. Keep in mind that if there
were no sun, then the moon would never shine.
Its these luminaries (SIGNS)
in the Heavens that enable us to depict seasons, days, and years:
The
fact that the CREATOR gives/uses SIGNS for us to see, is evident that we
must be able to sight something in the Heavens.
And the luminaries the LIGHTS of the sun and moon - are the SIGNS
we must use for our seasons, days, and years.
Websters
New Collegiate Definition of luminary:
a source
of light or illumination; a body that gives light: esp
: one of the celestial bodies: a person brilliantly outstanding in some
respect
If
the sun, moon, and the stars are the LIGHTS or luminaries in the Heavens
that we are Commanded to use for SIGNS, how then can anyone suggest using the
Conjunction or Dark Phase of the moon for the First Day of the month, when
absolutely nothing at all is visible for a SIGN at this time of the
month? Why have
a New Moon Crescent at all, if its first light is of no significance to us?
The
Stars are also a factor in determining our seasons. The CREATOR provides us with a new starlight wonder each month in
HIS Heavens for us to also use for determining our seasons, days, and years.
Throughout
the ages, mankind has looked to the heavens and tried to make sense of the
lights in the sky. The ancient peoples of the world thought they could see
pictures in the stars. These chance alignments of stars, also known as
asterisms, are known as today constellations. Many ancient cultures around the
world have assigned pictures to these star groupings. Many of these images find
their roots shrouded in mythology. In our modern world, it can be difficult to
make out the shapes of the constellations because city lights obscure the
dimmer stars. But they are still used to help identify and locate objects in
space. There are currently 88 main constellations recognized by the
astronomical community. Here we will explore these constellations and identify
the major points of interest within each. They
are often grouped according to the month in which they are best visible. These
monthly listings assume that you are looking at the sky at 9:00 PM. For
every hour later than 9:00, add half of a month. For every hour before 9:00,
subtract half a month.
As
previously mentioned, the conjunction is a reference of the moon when it is not visible, i.e., the time of month
when the moon is at its Dark Phases.
It is at this time (the Dark Phases of the moon) when many Israelites
start the First Day of the New Month rather than wait until the Sighting of
the New Moon Crescent or rather the luminaries in the Heavens to begin the New
Month. My argument is that when using the Dark Phase of the moon, which no
one can see, for the First Day of the new month, one is not adhering to Genesis
1:14, to use the LIGHTS (luminaries) in the Heavens to determine (in this case)
the days. And actually, that fact alone should end the debate and prove them to
be in error. However, those who use the
Dark Phase for the start of the New Month, do not
see it that way.
According
to those who use the Conjunction of the moon for the First Day of the month,
this Dark Phase of the moon is the SIGN in the Heavens for our First Day of
the Month and not the Lighted Crescent.
Those
of us who adhere to using the LIGHTS in the Heavens for a Sign for our days
await the Sighting of the Crescent Moon.
Otherwise, we are not following the CREATORs Commandment. And without question those who admit to using
the Conjunction or rather the Dark Phase of the moon to call the First Day
of the Month are certainly not following whats written to use the LIGHTS for
SIGNS for seasons, days, and years.
WHAT
ARE THE SIGNS FOR
THE
START OF EACH HEBREW NEW YEAR?
Another issue is in regard to the word Abib. The Karaites (a White
Jewish Group in Israel) and some Israelites feel that this word Abib is a
reference to barley. And when
mature barley is Sighted in Israel, then to them the month in which barley is
found starts the Hebrew New Year. This
is contrary to the CREATORs Commandment in Genesis 1:14 that explicitly tell
us to use the LIGHTED SIGNS IN THE HEAVEN for determining SEASONS.
It
is of most importance that we determine the SEASON of Passover FIRST and without any doubt or
error. The start of the SEASON of
Passover IS the start of Spring, and the New Moon
Crescent that follows starts the Hebrew New Year - the First New Hebrew Month
of the year in accordance with GODs WORD in Exodus 12:2. This month shall be unto you
the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to
you.
In
Exodus 13:4, the "Hebrew" is worded in month the hahaviv. Well, if you have ever studied Hebrew, the
first thing you learn is that it is not to your advantage to interpret Hebrew
the way English is spoken. Accordingly,
the hah before a Hebrew noun or pronoun can in fact mean the or this, but
in many, many other cases, hah before a word does not translate into
anything. One example is in Genesis 1:15
when the CREATOR says to give light or li-hah-ear in Hebrew. There is no translation or reason in English
for this hah in this word/phrase.
Another example is in Exodus 12:2, where we see the words hah-khodesh hahzeh, which when
translated is the month the this, if
speaking/interpreting Hebrew the way English is spoken.
My point being, the abib or hah aviv
does not have to mean the month of the Abib, or a reference to a condition,
as I have been told. Exodus 13:4 could
very well translate in Hebrew to read the following: This day, you came out in the
month of Abib (Spring), which changes the whole
picture, making Abib a month of Spring and not a condition or a reference
to a tender or green plant. It makes
no sense to use a plant to determine a time of the year when the LIGHTS in
the Heavens are for SIGNS and for Seasons.
And I, personally, cannot go beyond whats written.
And
God said, Let there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and
years: Genesis 1:14 (Caps. are mine.)
Thus
saith the LORD, which giveth
the SUN FOR A LIGHT BY DAY, and the ordinances of the MOON AND OF THE STARS FOR
A LIGHT BY NIGHT, which divideth the sea when the
waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If
those ordinances depart from before me, saith the
LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me
for ever. Jeremiah 31:35 (Caps. are
mine.)
Therefore, the LIGHTED
Ordinances of the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis 1:14) in their exceptional
positions in the Heavens at the same time each year (during the onset of
Spring) denote the beginning of months unto us or rather the start of our
Hebrew New Year. And for the CREATOR GOD
of Israel to demonstrate so much concern for these Ordinances to have their
places in the Heavens for all to see as a Sign should explain to us just how
necessary it is for HIS Wondrous LIGHTS to shine for all mankind to witness and
credit HIM for these phenomenal WORKS!
I
would also like to note that for some Hebrew words, there are no English
translations and vice versa. For
example, there is no of to be translated from English to Hebrew (see the of
in Numbers 22:18). This information is
not to confuse the issue, but rather my intention is to share the facts in
order that we will use whats written to come together on our New Moons and New
Years. At the time of the Spring Equinox
the Sun rises exactly in the east travels through the sky for 12 hours and sets
in the west. On this day, the night
hours are also of 12. The first New Moon
Crescent that follows is the beginning of months unto us or rather is the
beginning of our Hebrew New Year.
We must not ever begin any
one of GODs Holy Days out of its SEASON, and certainly not Passover! Thus, we must establish the SEASON of
Passover first, and then determine the First Day of the New Year. This is following GODs LAW, and this is what
makes perfect sense. Just as the CREATOR
causes it to rain IN ITS SEASON not before and not after but in its
season (
rain
unto thy land in his season
Deu. 28:12), so also must we expect to
observe Passover IN ITS SEASON. Using
barley as an indicator for starting the month of Passover can prove to be a
serious problem.
I
have listed verses that make mention of Abib below in an effort to clarify
exactly whats meant by in the month
Abib:
1.
This
day came ye out in the month Abib.
Exodus 13:4
2.
Thou
shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread
seven days, as I commanded thee, in the
time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt:
and none shall appear before me empty:) Exodus 23:15
3.
The
feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened
bread, as I commanded thee, in the time
of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest
out from Egypt. Exodus 34:18
4.
Observe
the month of Abib, and keep the passover
unto the LORD thy God: for in the month
of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night. Deuteronomy 16:1
Clearly,
there is nothing in Deuteronomy 16:1 that makes any reference to plants..
And why should it? The CREATOR Commanded
us to use the LIGHTS (luminaries) in the Heavens for SIGNS to determine our
seasons, days, and years. Therefore, we must use Genesis 1:14 as a
means to decipher the above Scripture. Therefore, I have again listed 1 4 and
highlighted the definitive words and presented an interpretation for a better
understanding of these passages.
In
that the CREATOR indicates Seasons, Days, and Years in Genesis 1:14, it would
be inappropriate to focus on green ears for deciding upon the start of the
Hebrew New Year. Thus Observe the Month
of Abib must certainly be interpreted to mean observe the Month of Spring,
for in this Spring Season (and month), the GOD of
Israel Delivered the Israelites out of Egypt.
Do note that the word month is not mentioned in Genesis 1:14, but we
can use the word month with confidence, as it is the lighted moon, the lesser
light, or New Moon Crescent that is our indication of each new month. Thus, green ears have nothing to do with
determining our Hebrew New Year.
1.
This
day came ye out in the month
Abib. Exodus 13:4
This
day came ye out in the month of the Spring Season, i.e., the beginning
of months unto you.
2.
in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest
out from Egypt
Exodus 23:15
The
Holy ONE of Israel is the ONE that APPOINTED the beginning of months unto
us, therefore, in this month that HE APPOINTED, i.e., the beginning of our new
SEASON, the Children of Israel came out of Egypt. Whether it is in Scripture or not, we have
learned that this time of year is the (Spring)
SEASON. And IN
IT the Israelites came out from
Egypt. This IN IT has to be a reference to (Spring) SEASON.
HEBREW: khee-boe
(in it) yahtzahtah (you came out) mi-meetzrahyim.(from Egypt). I think the definitive words here are in
it, as this phrase seems to clarify the whole matter.
Let
the children of Israel also keep the passover
at his appointed season. In the fourteenth day of this month, at
even, ye shall keep it in his appointed
season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the
ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.
Numbers 9:2,3
Now,
isnt that odd? The CREATOR made no
mention of Abib here, but rather SEASON! In
this passage HE is now Commanding that we observe
Passover in its APPOINTED SEASON!
Hence, this is my reason for interpreting Abib to mean Spring SEASON. Our
seasons: Spring, Summer,
Autumn, and Winter Solstice can only be determined by the LIGHTS in the
Heavens (Genesis 1:14).
in the time appointed of the month Abib;
for in it thou camest
out from Egypt
. IN THE SPRING
SEASON THE ISRAELITES CAME OUT FROM EGYPT!
IN ABIB THE ISRAELITES CAME OUT OF EGYPT! If we are going to translate, then all the
dots have to connect, the puzzle pieces have to fit, and above all, the
translation must be in agreement with the WORDS of the CREATOR.
Thou
shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his SEASON from year to year. Exodus 13:10
But
at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there
thou shalt sacrifice the passover
at even, at the going down of the sun, at
the SEASON that thou camest forth out of Egypt. Deuteronomy 16:6
These
passages adhere to making Genesis 1:14 our determining
factor for defining the seasons, days, and years, i.e., the start of the
beginning of months unto you or rather the start of our Hebrew New Year.
3.
in the time of the month
Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
Exodus 34:18
In
the month of the Spring SEASON, thou camest out from
Egypt.
4.
Observe
the month of Abib
for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of
Egypt by night. Deuteronomy 16:1
Observe
the beginning of months unto you for in this month
of the Spring Season, the LORD thy GOD brought thee forth out of Egypt by
night.
This
verse cannot be about observing the month of green ears, as there are Firstfruits and Ingathering harvests of green produce
throughout the year. And to use Aviv
for produce just does not make sense, especially when the CREATOR has provided
the LIGHTS in the Heavens specifically for SIGNS to denote Seasons, Days,
and Years.
Thus,
the reason that Aviv/Abib has much to do with the (Spring) Season - the beginning of months unto us, which
is readily determined by the LIGHTS in the Heavens.
If
we are TORAH Hebrews, then we have no choice but to follow GODs LAW, as it is
written and without adding to it to confuse the issue. Genesis 1:14 needs no barley to support and
make this Commandment of using the Lights in the Heavens credible and able to
stand alone for the sake of doing exactly what the CREATOR said:
And
God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Genesis 1:14
Just
because some of us do not fully understand this verse that is no reason to
assume it does not supply us with sufficient information for determining
Seasons, Days, and Years. I have been
maintaining a Hebrew Calendar now for over a decade now, and I never once went
in search of barley in Egypt, in Israel, or in Jordan, as its not at all
necessary to do so. If there were a need
to use barley as a factor, the CREATOR would have mentioned that IN THE
BEGINNING. And since HE didnt, we
should be satisfied with what HE Commanded or leave the issue alone. But we should NEVER ADD ulterior views to HIS
Ordinance in an effort to support that of our own.
Its wonderful to study Hebrew, but not if we are going to use it to change and ADD to what THUS SAITH THE LORD, for then for sure we create problems for ourselves and fall short of the CREATORs expectations of us.
Given
Genesis 1:14, there has got to be great significance for the Holy ONE
positioning the sun, moon, and stars (LIGHTS) so dynamically in the Heavens
once a year for us to stand as witnesses for HIS Creation: Seasons, Days, Years.
We need to know why the sun crosses directly over the Earth's equator at
the time of the Spring Equinox and rises in the east and travels through the
sky for 12 hours and sets in the west.
We need to know why the moon
positions itself in the sky in a different phase every night, excluding the
days it is in its Dark Phase, when it cannot be seen for 1-3 nights.
We need to know why (stars) a
certain constellation is only visible in March at 9 oclock P.M.
What other reason could it be
except for us to know the Beginning of months unto us? These phenomena are not for naught.
Hence, Abib/Aviv
is a reference to a month and time of year, otherwise how is anyone to
determine when to observe Passover.
Nowhere is it written in the Hebrew Scriptures to use a plant to
reference a date or day in the year and certainly not Passover.

This
concept is in keeping with Genesis 1:14 using the LIGHTS in the Heavens for
SIGNS to acknowledge our Seasons, Days, and Years.
The CREATOR saw fit to write in Genesis the First Chapter exactly how we are to
determine the beginning of each New Day, and in this same chapter, HE also
included exactly how we are to determine the new seasons, days, and years. The Ordinance in Genesis 1:14 cannot be
changed or dismissed.
"Neither will I any more remove the foot of
Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that
they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to
the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses." II Chronicles 338
I
am ashamed to say that we, as Hebrew Israelites, have so many differences, when
there really is no reason for them. Once
we make it up in our minds to follow GODs LAW and HIS WORD to HIS Prophets,
then there need be no confusion. O that
we had the minds of a computer. People
think computers to be very intelligent, but in actually, they are dumb as
doornails. Computers are programmed to
do various functions, otherwise they would be useless. If we were so programmed like a computer but
to follow GODs Book of the Law, as it is written, then there would be no
confusion about when a day begins, when the Seventh Day Sabbath begins, how we
should keep it, and/or when to determine our New Year and the start of our
Hebrew Months.
Keep
therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all
that ye do. Deuteronomy 29:9
Only
be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest
observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant
commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:7,8
Let
them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my
righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the
prosperity of his servant.
my tongue shall speak of
thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long. Psalm 35:27,28
May the Holy ONE of Israel open our eyes to know and understand HIS
WORD and COMMANDMENTS, as we seek to grow in HIS Ways of Righteousness, in HIS
Way of Life, and in HIS Peace with each other, as this is for our welfare and
for the prosperity of the Nation of Israel.
O
TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL
IS JUST AND GOOD!

This
TORAH READINGS Calendar, herewith, follows GODs Book of the Law and nothing
else:
And God said, Let
there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the
night; and let them be for signs and
seasons, and for days, and years:
Genesis 1:14
Because this TORAH READINGS Calendar is determined by the New Moon Sighting on or after the Spring equinox each year, it is a solar calendar
consisting of approximately 365 days. And because the months of this Hebrew
Calendar are determined by each New Moon Sighting, i.e., the LIGHT in the
firmament that poses as the SIGN for days, it is a lunar calendar. Therefore,
our Hebrew Calendar must be a solar/lunar calendar, if we are to observe the
beginning of months every Spring and in its season
each new year.
AND the LORD spake
unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
This
month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to
you. Exodus 12:1,2
This day came ye out in the month Abib. Exodus 13:4
Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days,
as I commanded thee, IN THE TIME
APPOINTED OF THE MONTH ABIB; for in it thou camest
out from Egypt
Exodus 23:15 (Caps. are mine.)
HOLY
FEAST DAYS, NEW MOONS, AND SABBATHS OF REST:
This
TORAH Readings Hebrew Calendar focuses on the Holy Feast Days, New Moons, and
Sabbath Days of Complete Rest because these are days that we must proclaim to
be holy convocations, i.e., days that we must keep "Holy".
Leviticus 23rd Chapter outlines GODs Holy Feast
Days that HE Commanded the Nation of Israel to observe and do. It should be made perfectly clear that EVERY DAY begins in the evening (Genesis
1st Chapter) and NOT MIDNIGHT as Gentiles proclaim. Therefore, ALL GODs Holy Days begin in the
evening at sundown and END the next day in the evening at sundown (Leviticus
23:32).
AND the LORD spake
unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim
to be holy convocations, even these are
my feasts. Leviticus 23:1,2
And
the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be
to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. Numbers 10:8
Also
in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of
your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and
over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a
memorial before your God: I AM THE LORD
YOUR GOD. Numbers 10:10 (Caps. are mine.)
And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the
Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings
and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the
gates of the tents of the LORD.
He appointed also the kings portion of his substance for
the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the
Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and
for the set feasts, AS IT IS WRITTEN IN
THE LAW OF THE LORD. II Chronicles
31:2,3
Blow
up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn
feast day.
For
this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. Psalm 81:3,4
THE CREATOR's HOLY SEVENTH DAY OF COMPLETE REST
The
Sabbath Day of Rest is probably the most controversial Holy Day that we have
even though it is the easiest of all to observe. Some argue that we can't keep the Seventh Day
Sabbath in Babylon (captivity). Others
say that it is a day of Complete Rest and no assemblies and gatherings are to
take place because we must not leave our places or dwellings (Exodus 16:29),
and these same people are also against any manner of broadcasting and computer
use on this Holy Sabbath Day of Rest.
Some Israelites say that the Sabbath is not on fixed Saturdays and
believe the New Moon falls every month on the First Day of the week
(Sunday). Thus, this method of reckoning
the New Moons causes the Sabbath Days of Rest to float each month from one day
of the week to the next throughout the year.
Still others focus only on NOT doing work/labor on this day but deem it
permissible to do other activities. And
so many, many Israelites travel to their meeting places via car and public
transportation to assemble, teach Hebrew, and hold Sabbath Service.
This
TORAH READINGS Calendar asserts living and doing GODs Book of the Law, as it
is written. Therefore, we must all
observe the Law of the Holy Seventh Day as it is written:
See,
for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath,
therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of
two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on
the seventh day. Exodus
16:29
"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and
call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him,
not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine
own words:
"Then
shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the
high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." Isaiah
58:13,14
Israelites
have no choice in the matter. We are
compelled to abide ye in your place on the Seventh Day, keep it Holy, Rest
and Refresh ourselves, and keep this day as a Sign between the Holy ONE of
Israel and the Nation of Israel.
On this TORAH READINGS Calendar, the Seventh Day Sabbaths do not alternate throughout the year from
one day of the week to the next, as do some Israelite calendars. On this Calendar, GODs Sabbaths of COMPLETE
REST fall every single Seventh Day (Saturday) without fail just as the
CREATOR initially planned it in the BEGINNING and without skipping a Seventh
Day at the end of the month to provide for the First Day (New Moon) of the
month. Making the First Day of the month
the First Day of the week is what causes the seventh days (of rest) to swing,
throughout the year, from one day of the week to another. This
routine proves itself to be in err and a grave mistake when at the end of the
month, nine and ten days separate the last day of rest from the next day of
rest. This manner of making the First Day of the month, the First Day of
the week is as much against GODs LAW as is the White Jewish Calendar that
manipulates the Holy Days.
This
TORAH READINGS Calendar recognizes GODs Seventh Day Sabbath as being Holy (since its inception, as
of Genesis 2:2,3) and a Sign (Exodus 31:16,17) between the Holy ONE of Israel
and HIS People whether we are in the land or not. There is documented information that Pope
Gregory, III changed the days on the calendar, but never has the sequence of
the seven days of the week ever been changed, ALL PRAISES DUE TO THE CREATOR, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.
If we are to recognize the Sabbath Day of Rest as a Sign
between the Holy ONE of Israel and ourselves, then by all means we must keep it Holy wherever we are
for we, Israelites, are the Light to the World for HIS Holy Names Sake. It is incumbent upon us to show forth GODs
Praises and HIS Righteousness by keeping HIS Book of the Law and living it
ALWAYS for Glory, and that includes GODs Holy Sabbath Day of Rest.
Wherefore
the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to
observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Exodus 31:16
IF thou wilt return, O Israel, saith
the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine
abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
And thou (ISRAEL) shalt swear, The LORD liveth,
in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the NATIONS SHALL BLESS THEMSELVES IN HIM (YIHOVAH), AND IN HIM
(YIHOVAH) SHALL THEY GLORY. Jeremiah
4:1,2
It should be realized that the Children of Israel not only kept
the Sabbath of Rest in the Wilderness, but they also kept Passover there, as
well (Numbers 9:5). Hence, indeed we can and must keep the
Seventh Day of Rest in our enemies lands or wherever we reside.
Indisputably, Deuteronomy 30th Chapter is explicit
regarding what it takes for the Holy ONE of Israel to cause our return:
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come
upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and THOU SHALT CALL THEM TO MIND AMONG ALL THE
NATIONS, WHITHER THE LORD THY GOD HATH DRIVEN THEE.
And
shalt RETURN UNTO THE LORD THY GOD, and shalt OBEY HIS VOICE according to ALL
that I COMMAND THEE THIS DAY, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and
have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the
nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. Deuteronomy 30:1,2
Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I
will scatter you abroad among the nations:
But
IF YE TURN UNTO ME, AND KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, AND DO THEM; though there were of you cast out unto the
uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will
bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there. Nehemiah 1:8,9
If
they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth
not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy,
so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried
captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that
carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we
have committed wickedness; And so return unto thee with all their heart, and
with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive,
and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest
unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have
built for thy name: Then hear thou their
prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their
cause, And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions
wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before
them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them: For
they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou
broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the
furnace of iron: That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy
servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them
in all that they call for unto thee. For thou didst separate them from among
all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance,
as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant,
when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD
God.. I
Kings 8:46 53
Thus,
it is quite clear that the Holy ONE did not mean for us to WAIT until we returned
to our heritage to keep HIS Holy Seventh Day of Rest. And HE did not intend for us to wait until we
returned to our heritage before returning unto HIM and HIS Law in
Righteousness. Other
passages that are indisputable are as follows:
And
the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in
number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
But
if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou
seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come
upon thee, even in the latter days, if
thou turn to the LORD thy God, and SHALT
BE OBEDIENT UNTO HIS VOICE; Deuteronomy
4:27,29,30
Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will
scatter you abroad among the nations: But if
ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of
you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the
place that I have chosen to set my name there. Nehemiah 1:8,9
At present, there are some Laws we cannot keep (Levitical Sacrifices), but the Sabbath Day of Rest is one
that we can all observe, i.e., if it is
our desire to do so.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will
give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written;
that thou mayest teach them. Exodus
24:12
Behold,
I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should DO SO IN THE LAND whither ye go to
possess it.
Deuteronomy 4:5 (Caps. are mine.)
The Israelite Way of Life was set
in stone in the Wilderness, as to how we are Commanded to prepare to
live according to ALL GODs LAW,
as well as for HIS Holy Seventh Day Sabbath of Complete REST, i.e., how we are
supposed to keep it, as well as the consequences for profaning
it. And there are no exceptions.
Too many Israelite leaders observe GODs Sabbath Day of Rest
according to their understanding and not according to whats written in GODs
Book of the Law. The Holy Sabbath Day of Rest is
just that a day for all of us to
Rest, sleep, eat, read, and be refreshed without use of the microwave,
television, radio, computers, broadcasts, tapes, strolling, teaching Hebrew,
entertaining, traveling, and most definitely without working. All of GODs Laws of the Sabbath Day of Rest
are clear on exactly how we are to keep this Seventh Day: Exodus
16:29; Exodus 31:12 - 18; Isaiah 58:13,14; Nehemiah 13:19; and Jeremiah
17:21,22.
In
that the Seventh Day is a Day of Complete REST, we cannot do on this day the
things we ordinarily do on the other six days of the week, as this is
forbidden. We just cannot continue to
profane GODs Sabbath Day of Rest. This
Seventh Day is SPECIAL and is to be kept HOLY unto the LORD and to be kept
exactly as our forefathers were Commanded to keep it
in the Wilderness, or we will pay the consequences death!
Regarding
holy convocation, that people seem to believe means a
call to assemble, please know that one is hard pressed to find where holy
convocation means to gather or to assemble on the Sabbath of Complete
REST. I firmly believe holy convocation
followed by no manner of work shall be done is interpreted, call
this a holy day on which no manner of work is to be done IN ALL YOUR
DWELLINGS.
And to end the debate about gathering on GODs Holy
Day of Complete REST, consider that we are Commanded to observe the First Day
of Passover in our houses (Exodus 12:7,22). And at the same time, we are also Commanded
to observe the First Day of Passover as a holy convocation (Exodus
12:16). If holy convocation means to
gather or assemble, then we would not have been Commanded
to remain in our houses on the First Day.
However, we are indeed Commanded to have a
Solemn Assembly on the Seventh Day of Passover.
Six days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to
the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein. Deuteronomy 16:8
Both the First and the Seventh
Days of Passover are to be kept as holy days, but only the Seventh Day is an
assembly/gathering. Thus, it is proved
that holy convocation cannot mean to assemble, and also that we are not to
gather on GODs Holy Seventh Day of Complete REST, which is, in Hebrew, a Shabbatone. Only
GODs Holy Seventh Day Sabbath and The Day of Atonement are Shabbatone.
And Moses
gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto
them, These are the words which the LORD hath
commanded, that ye should do them. Six days shall work be done,
but on the seventh day there shall be to you an
holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD:
whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Consider
Exodus 35:1,2
In
other words, wherever we dwell we are to abide there and Rest on GODs Holy
Sabbath Day of Rest. We do not dwell
in GODs Holy Temple..
We (will) only visit this Holy Place on occasion to serve and
worship Our GOD of Israel but never on the day on which YIHOVAH tells us
to abide and Rest in our places.
According to the Hebrew Scriptures, holy convocation is written meekrah kodesh (not to be confused with chodesh/month). Meekrah: reading matter; Bible; recitation; and
convocation, as well as call and called.
Kodesh:
holiness, sanctify; holy place according to Ehud Ben-Yehuda / David Weinsteins Pocket English-Hebrew /
Hebrew-English Dictionary.
Clearly
CLEARLY there are differences in the usage of these verbs: to call (meek-rah) and to
gather/assemble (ah-sahf, kah-batz,
and ah-tzah-rah). All one need do is sit with someone with
knowledge of Hebrew and go through the LAW and the other Scriptures of the Old
Testament and see the differences in the meanings of the verb to call (to
give a name to or to make a request or demand) and the verb to gather together and/or to assemble the people.
There are many passages that make mention of Solemn Assembly,
and I urge you to read them in Hebrew for a better understanding of knowing the
differences in what the Scriptures meant by Holy Convocation and calling a Solemn Assembly. Please
read the following Scripture for further enlightenment: Leviticus 23:36; Numbers 29:35; Deuteronomy
16:8; II Kings 10:20; II Chronicles 7:9; Nehemiah 8:18; Joel 1:14; and Joel
2:15.
In
this same regard, please consider Joel 2:15 that is most definitely speaking
about a call to assemble, but yet differs from the holy
convocation in Leviticus 23:3 that people choose to believe is a Commandment
to assemble on GODs Holy Sabbath Day of Rest despite HIS Commandment to abide
ye every man in his place on the seventh day.
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Joel 2:15
If the above verse had been written along with Leviticus
23:3, there would be no question that Our GOD wants us to assemble on the
Seventh Day Sabbath. But it isnt
there! Hence, we must call this day Holy, do absolutely no work, and permit
our bodies to REST and be refreshed
on every Seventh Day.
Further
evidence that holy convocation DOES NOT mean to assemble is that we are told
that Passover is a holy convocation but yet, we are Commanded to observe this
High Holy Day with our immediate family (in each one's house) and only to join
with another family if the members are too few for the lamb (Exodus
12:3,4). This proves that holy
convocation does not mean to assemble, but rather to keep the Feast days HOLY. Some Israelites call attention to the fact
that because Israelites were Commanded to
turn in
the morning and go into their tents
(Deuteronomy 16:5-7) that this is proof of an assembly. Those Israelite families that joined with
others are the ones GOD Commanded to return to their tents.
The
Holy ONE of Israel DOES NOT contradict HIMSELF! HE would not COMMAND us to Rest on the
Sabbath Day of Rest and also Command us unequivocally to abide ye every man in
your place on the seventh day, and then confuse us by telling us to assemble
on the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD. This would make absolutely no sense
whatsoever. Therefore, if the Holy ONE
of Israel said dont bear a burden on the Sabbath Day of Rest (Jeremiah
17:21,22) and that our asses (used for travel) had to also rest, then for sure
we have to abide in our places
on the seventh day and leave our horses and
cars parked.. And walking to any meeting place for Sabbath Service is out of the
question all because GODs Seventh Day is specifically to be kept as a DAY
of COMPLETE REST Shabatone
(as is written in Hebrew) in our places wherever we are at the time of the
Holy Seventh Day.
It would indeed appear to be acceptable that the Sabbath is
for coming together to worship YIHOVAH, but
thats not what GOD HIMSELF has ordained.
HE said to stay in our place and
rest on this Holy Day. Hence, we are
to keep this day Holy and do no manner of work, walking, or assembling but
rather REFRESH ourselves as Our
GOD of Israel COMMANDS us to do.
Therefore, getting dressed and traveling
to a meeting place on GODs Holy Sabbath is not only a real hassle but is
without a doubt breaking HIS Law not to mention that paying tolls or fares
for public transportation to get there is an even greater sin. The wise will not permit ANYONE to entice
them to err. Know GODs LAW for
yourselves, and make sure that you fully understand exactly what we must do accordingly
and as it is written, which means to obey
the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which
I command thee this day (Deuteronomy 27:10). Unequivocally, we must return to Our Holy ONE
of Israel and return to the teachings of Moses not what we assume, not what
folks are so-called inspired to do, and not whats according to the
imaginations of our evil hearts but precisely
as GODs Prophet Moses was Commanded to teach us.
He
[King Hezekiah] trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none
like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
For he clave to the
LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, WHICH THE LORD COMMANDED MOSES. II
Kings 18:5,6
Therefore, we, too, must adhere to what the Holy ONE
Commanded Moses to teach us, which in this case is about abiding in our places
on HIS Holy Sabbath Day of Rest.
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and
my laws?
See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath,
therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of
two days; ABIDE YE EVERY MAN IN HIS
PLACE ON THE SEVENTH DAY. Exodus
16:28,29
These two verses tell us to prepare our Sabbath Day of Rest
meal on the Sixth Day before sundown, and stay in our places on the Seventh
Day for its observance in Righteousness.
And the following verse reminds us again to keep HIS Sabbath Day of Rest
as I commanded your fathers, i.e.,
according to Exodus 16:29 and the other Laws of the Sabbath. Hence, we must keep GODs LAW just as the
Prophet Moses Commanded (Deuteronomy 10:13), and at that time, the Children of Israel DID NOT ASSEMBLE for any manner of
Seventh Day Sabbath (of Rest) Service.
Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the
Sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but HALLOW
YE THE SABBATH DAY, as I commanded your fathers.
Jeremiah 17:22 (Caps. are mine.)
But
if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the Sabbath day, and not to bear
burden, EVEN ENTERING IN AT THE GATES OF JERUSALEM ON THE SABBATH DAY;
then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces
of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched. Jeremiah 17:27
Living
by the LAW is the ONLY Way the Nation of Israel can be governed and can live Righteously.
Accordingly,
if the future King of Israel, the SEED of the renown King David, will be
obedient to observe ALL of GODs Book of the Law and live by it (AS He IS
COMMANDED), use Righteous Judgment (Jeremiah 33:15), and reign to EXALT the GOD
of Israel, then unequivocally, he will enforce the COMMANDMENT to abide ye
every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
If
ALL GODs COMMANDMENTS are sure, then for sure, we must give credence to
Exodus 16:29 and abide in our places on GODs HOLY Seventh Day of Complete REST
as we are COMMANDED TO DO!
He
hath shewed his people the power of his works,
that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. The works of his hands are
verity and judgment; all his commandments are
sure. Psalm 111:7
GODs
Holy Sabbath Day of REST is not only one of HIS Greatest WORKS of all time, but
this Holy Day is an extraordinary ANNIVERSARY and SIGN between this Most High
GOD, the CREATOR and HIS Chosen People, the Children of Israel!
Wherefore
the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to
observe the sabbath
throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in
six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and
was refreshed. Exodus 31:17,18
Since
we know for a fact that GODs Holy Seventh Day Sabbath is a Sign between HIM
and Israel, why take any chance to profane it?
Every passage about the Holy Sabbath of COMPLETE Rest stands strong in
support of GODs Commandment to abide in our places on the Seventh Day (Exodus
16:29) ever last one of them including the passage in Jeremiah where we are
Commanded to Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day,
nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; Jeremiah 17:21 (Please read verses 21 to 27.)
Perhaps
the wise thing to do would be to define the word burden. But more importantly, we need to determine
whether or not Exodus 16:29 is a Commandment or not. And if it is determined to be one, then we
should Fear the GOD of Israel and be obedient to what HE has Commanded
of us.
But
the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a
stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him
shall ye do sacrifice. And the statutes,
and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you,
he shall observe to do for ever more; and ye shall not fear other gods. II Kings 17:36,37
Why
must we debate that which is clearly written for us to do and for very good
reason, if we will only consider and think about it? The
Holy ONE wants us to be first to observe HIS weekly Anniversary of Creation,
which is to keep HIS Holy Seventh day at REST, as HE did, in order that we
might be REFRESHED!
In
those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow
up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. Jeremiah 33:15
Neither
will this King who will be established by the All-Mighty GOD of Israel pick and
choose nor add to or diminish from GODs LAW.
And not under any circumstances will he be influenced to follow the
imaginations of his heart. But rather, he will insure that GODs Book of the Law
will be respected, honored, and lived for GODs Holy Names Sake, and for the
sake of HIS Righteousness and Peace on GODs Earth.
"Behold, the days come, saith
the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall
reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth." Jeremiah
23:5
It will
be in the kings heart to follow, do, and enforce GODs Book of the Law and
Judge Righteously, so that people will keep it, as it is WRITTEN in order that
those who remain after The Day of the LORD will serve the Holy ONE of Israel
with ONE CONSENT (Zephaniah 3:9).
And
there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow
out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit
of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of
knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the
LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove
after the hearing of his ears: But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of
the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with
the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the
girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Isaiah 11:1 - 5
And
keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes,
and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses,
that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and
whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
That
the LORD may continue his word which he spake
concerning me, saying, If thy children
take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and
with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of
Israel. I Kings 2:3,4
And
the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
Concerning this house which thou art in
building, if thou wilt walk in my
statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in
them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake
unto David thy father:
And
I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people
Israel.. I
Kings 6:11 13
The
SEED of King David, who will reign in GODs Holy City, Jerusalem, will know
that in keeping of this LAW is EVERLASTING Salvation and Exaltation of the Most
High GOD of Israel and of HIM ALONE. And
make no mistakes about it! Therefore, given the LAW to abide by ALL
of GODs COMMANDMENTS, then we have to believe that this GOD-Fearing King of
Israel will NOT dismiss Exodus 16:29.
And
it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his
kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the
Levites:
And
it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that
he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and
these statutes, to do them:
That
his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and
that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to
the left: to the end that he may prolong
his days in his kingdom, he, and
his children, in the midst of Israel.
Deuteronomy 18 - 20
The
secret things belong unto the LORD
our God: but those things which are
revealed belong unto us and to our
children for ever, that we may do ALL
the words of this law.
Deuteronomy 29:29
Some Israelites feel that it was acceptable to travel to
Jerusalem on GODs Holy Sabbath Day of Rest during the days of our forefathers
and use Ezekiel 46th Chapter to support their premise. But given Jeremiah 17:21,22,27
and Ezekiel 46:12, we can see that this is not true. Hence,
we must HALLOW GODs Sabbath Day of Rest and abide in our places just as Our
Holy ONE of Israel COMMANDED OUR FATHERS!
Significantly,
in the beginning when the Holy ONE of Israel established this Sabbath Day of
COMPLETE REST and when HE clearly COMMANDED the Children of Israel in the
Wilderness to observe this Holy Day, HE MADE NO EXCEPTIONS!
Thus
the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his
work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work
which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it
he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 2:1 - 3
And
he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy
sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake today,
and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth
over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
See,
for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath,
therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of
two days; abide ye every man in his
place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Exodus 16:23,29
The
wise, obedient ones understand the great importance of observing this Seventh
Day of Rest exactly as GOD Commanded and will not add to or diminish from this
Law of the Blessed, Sanctified, and Holy Seventh Day
Sabbath.
If we are to be a light to the World to Exalt the Most High
GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, FROM JERUSALEM then we must exemplify GODs
Word as it is written in HIS Book of the
Law. YIHOVAH wont have it any other way! This is the only way that we can become the
Righteous Ones who will reflect GODs Righteous Ways, i.e., be the Remnant that
will be found worthy that YIHOVAH will call (Joel 2:32). These are the Ones who will have GODs LAW
and HIS Spirit in their hearts. These
are the Ones who will usher in GODs Holy Kingdom on this Earth.
And if we are to represent the Most High GOD of Abraham, we
have no choice but to keep, proclaim, teach, live, and do GODs LAW, again, as
best we can. One would think that as
much as we have suffered and as hard as we must labor at work and at home, that
we would be too happy to Rest on GODs Holy Sabbath Day. Not so!
Some of us will drive our cars and even take public transportation on
GODs Seventh Day, profaning HIS Holy Seventh Day, and think that they are
pleasing the Holy ONE of Israel. Where is the FEAR OF THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL
to be obedient to HIS Commandments???
There
is a correct time, manner, and WAY to serve and worship YIHOVAH, and HE
explained all this to us when our forefathers were in the Wilderness and
nothing Our GOD Commanded of us has changed since that time, thus GODs reason
for saying as I commanded your fathers. Coming out of Egypt, a country replete with
all manner of idol worship, our forefathers would need all the teaching
possible to learn exactly how to live and do righteously in order to please the
Holy ONE of Israel. It is Our GOD that
decides this manner and time and what it takes to make us HIS Holy People.
Saul
lost the Kingdom all because he thought it would be all right for him to do a
good deed - to offer a burnt offering in making supplication to the Holy ONE of
Israel. Think about this:
what could be greater than to give Thanks and Praise to the GOD of Israel for
HIS Mercy and Help in a time of need?
Isnt this what Saul did when he offered his sacrifice unto GOD? But Saul went against GODs Commandment. Its the duty of the Priests to conduct
offerings and sacrifices: Exodus 27th through 29th
Chapters. And notice what Samuel told
Saul after he took it upon himself to sacrifice to the Holy ONE of Israel:
Hath
the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better
than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
For
rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and
idolatry. Because thou hast
rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. I Samuel 15:22,23
Another incident that was done in good faith but proved to
be a grave mistake was when Uzzah did not heed GODs
Commandment that the Levites should take charge of all things pertaining to HIS
Ministry (Numbers 1:50,51). Uzzah, who was not
a Levite, put forth his hand to the
ark of God and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it, and after doing so, GOD
killed him (II Samuel 6:6,7).
Therefore, lets think about all that we decide to do on
GODs Holy Sabbath Day of Rest because we really should not be doing too much
of anything except to Rest, read, eat, and sleep. As we know breaking GODs Holy Seventh Day of
Complete REST is punishable by death! And if our leaders advise us to do
otherwise, i.e., to drive/travel to assemble on the day that Our Holy ONE of
Israel tells us to Rest, then they feed us the thoughts of their hearts and
not GODs Word from HIS Book of the Law.
But
this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and
ye shall be my people: and walk ye in
all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. Jeremiah 7:23
How is it possible that holy convocation can cause so much
confusion? In my opinion it all has to
do with translation and interpretation.
Consider the following information I found in a book entitled World
Religions From Ancient History to the Present, pp.
423, which certainly explains the reason for the discrepancy in this
term:
The
word church (ecclesia) means an assembly of people. It was used in the Greek Septuagint version
of the Old Testament to translate the Hebrew word for the assembly,
congregation, or people of God.
Ecclesia was a
word meaning "gathering of the called out ones" (or on
today's terms "church") in many contexts in Ancient Greek, giving rise to many derivatives
(e.g. Spanish iglesia,
"church"), and can refer to:
Ecclesia (Church), the Christian Church,
which is composed of Ecclesia Militans
(the "Church Militant"), and Ecclesia
Triumphans (the "Church Triumphant").
Ecclesia (ancient Athens), the popular assembly in ancient Athens.
Ecclesia (sociology of religion), a concept in the typology of
religion.
The Ecclesia, the
healing temple of The Rosicrucian Fellowship
at Mount Ecclesia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecclesia
As well, it should come as a surprise that holy
convocation is only mentioned in Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers and not in any
other books of the Old Testament.
Note also:
Septuagint -
What is It?
Septuagint (sometimes abbreviated LXX) is the name given to the
Greek translation of the Jewish Scriptures. The Septuagint has its origin in
Alexandria, Egypt and was translated between 300-200 BC. Widely used among
Hellenistic Jews, this Greek translation was produced because many Jews spread
throughout the empire were beginning to lose their Hebrew language. The process
of translating the Hebrew to Greek also gave many non-Jews a glimpse into
Judaism. According to an ancient document called the Letter of Aristeas, it is believed that 70 to 72 Jewish scholars were
commissioned during the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus
to carry out the task of translation. The term Septuagint means seventy in
Latin, and the text is so named to the credit of these 70 scholars.
Septuagint -
Influence on Christianity
The Septuagint was also a source of the Old Testament for early
Christians during the first few centuries AD. Many early Christians spoke and
read Greek, thus they relied on the Septuagint translation for most of their
understanding of the Old Testament. The New Testament writers also relied
heavily on the Septuagint, as a majority of Old Testament quotes cited in the
New Testament are quoted directly from the Septuagint (others are quoted from
the Hebrew texts). Greek church fathers are also known
to have quoted from the Septuagint. Even today, the Eastern Orthodox Church
relies on the Septuagint for its Old Testament teachings. Some modern Bible
translations also use the Septuagint along side Hebrew manuscripts as their
source text.

For those who, for whatever unbelievable reason, find it
difficult to trust wholeheartedly in the Most High GOD of Israel and HIS Book
of the Law, then wait until HE gives us Pastors according to HIS Heart:
Turn, O backsliding children, saith
the LORD; for I am married unto you: and
I will take you one of a city, and two
of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
AND
I WILL GIVE YOU PASTORS ACCORDING TO MINE HEART, which shall feed you with
knowledge and understanding.

"And the

for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
"And the
covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear
other gods.
"But the Lord
your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your
enemies." II
Kings 17:36 39
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led
thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to
know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. Deuteronomy 8:2
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee,
but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to
serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I

For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I
command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways,
and to cleave unto him;

HIS Laws and Commandments Ezekiel 20:34 38.

that all GODs Feast Days, including the New Moons, are determined by the New
