As we bring you another issue of the Journal, it comes to you admist all of the turmoil occuring in parts of our ancient homeland. At the same time, for the first time in over 100 years, Blacks throughtout the diaspora are ralling around and making preparations to attend the United Nation's World Conference Against Racism to make their voices heard concerning reparations and charging all parties who benefited from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, with crimes against humanity. The Lawkeepers see this as the hand of the Creator.

The Psalmist tells us:

"And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." Psalm 50:15

And in another place says, "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that orderth conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God." Psalm 50:23

As we all know, many of the African/Black organizations participating in the WCAR on behalf of slave decendants in the diaspora and western hemisphere in particular do not or have not recognized; nor do they claim to be Yisraelites, the children of Jacob. They, as do we, do know that by correcting wrongs committed in the past is Justice.

"Justice and judgment [are] the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face." Psalm 89:14

None calleth for justice, nor [any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity." Isaiah 59:4

Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, [but] we walk in darkness." Isaiah 59:9

We have through the determination as such sisters as Tziona,(Afraqueen) and others, written many a letter to the powers that be, explaining and informing them of our desire to be compensated to allow us to leave the land of our captivity. We have done as the Psalmist said "calleth for justice" knowing that our God is a God of Justice in that His very throne is the habitation thereof. How much moreso should His Holy Name Sake Yisrael be about calling for Justice? Judgement cannot be "far from us" because if it is, we will always be waiting for "light" and only see darkness not knowing the paths we should walk to bring us Yah's favor.

On behalf of The LawKeepers, we submitted documentation to be included as a participating NGO or Non-Governmental Organization, and submitted documentation as regards our own plight as Yisraelites in seeking Yah's determination for us as a people. Although we will not be sending anyone representing The LawKeepers to Durban, we feel we have done all we can do in this regard to make awareness and our desires as a people known. The rest is in our Elohim's hand.

In this regard, I thought it appropriate to remind all of us of the Prophet Ezekiel words from Yah concerning the land. Please, place close attention to the highlighted and underlined parts in particular as this prophecy was concerning the time Yah would be taking Yisrael out of the lands of our enemies and cleansing us to inhabit the cites. Also, keep in mind what is happening in the land as I write this so we will know and understand that the current inhabitants according to Yah's word, have caused the land to be looked down upon by all nations. But most importantly, the gathering and restoring of all the nation of Yisrael that yet seeks his face in the diaspora that it is for the holiness and santification of His Holy Name that He will use US as it should be' to bring Glory to that Holy Name. May He bless you and all of us and place and keep us in His way!

EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE:

THE HEBREW CALENDAR

On August 5, I attended The "One Nation Forum" meeting on the Calendar discussion at Beth Hephzibah in Darby, Pennsylvania. There is no question that some Hebrews are working in earnest to establish a Hebrew Calendar acceptable to all Hebrew Israelites. Although this is a most difficult task, trying to please everybody, I commend the Brothers and Sisters for their efforts to bring everyone together for this much needed exposure and discussion on the Calendar issue.

At this meeting we were fortunate to have a scholar presenting information and slides on the moon and answering questions, while trying ever so hard to remain neutral on our individual interpretations regarding the New Moon "Sightings," Genesis 1:14, and whether this verse deals with the actual astrological side (dark side) of the moon. This gentleman kept his presentation strictly scientific and not cultural (Biblical). Yet, he was helpful in providing a better understanding of the phases of the moon and its appearance as we see it from Earth.

While I enjoyed the presentation and discussion and found it to be most worthwhile, there still was no "final" conclusion on the determination of the First Day of the month. While some of us already feel we have the proper determination for the beginning of each month, I attended this meeting to see if I could find more information in support of how I established my Hebrew Calendar or Laws giving me reason to make changes to it. Since I found my understanding for my Hebrew Calendar to be accurate, I remain satisfied with the Scripture I use to determine the First Day of each month, as well as the start of each New Calendar Year: The actual New Moon "Sighting" for the First Day of each month (Genesis 1:14) and the first New Moon on or after March 20,21 (the equinox) for the start of the season for the New Calendar Year (Psalm 104:19).

By using the equinox for a fixed point in the year to determine when the old Calendar should "end," and the new one should "begin," it serves as a safeguard to maintain a lunar and solar calendar of 365 days, enabling the "beginning of months" to start around the same time each year depending on the First New Moon "Sighting" on or after the equinox. Not under any circumstances or for any reason do I agree to making adjustments in the Calendar. The days, months, and years of the Calendar should flow just as easily as do the seconds, minutes, and hours in a day. Each Calendar year should follow the other exactly as GOD has planned, if we just leave them alone to do so.

Unfortunately, after all the energies spent to provide for us a forum for our benefit, to invite a speaker, and to prepare food, there was only a hand full of Israelites present when there should have been standing room only. This is not a good example of Israelites seeking to learn the truth about our Hebrew culture.

Too many of us use the White Jewish calendar for GOD’s Holy Feast Days, and we all know by "their" own admission that "their holidays" are manipulated to fall when "they" choose. And some of us use the "Dark Side" to determine the First Day of the month, while still others use the New Moon "Sightings." I realize that we have a myriad of other problems and situations within congregations and without that must also be resolved, but it is imperative that we try to come to an agreement on GOD’s Calendar Year that HE gave to our forefathers. Some issues we have jurisdiction over and some we don’t, so, we may as well focus on that which is in our realm to resolve.

I would like to see us establish a Hebrew Calendar based on the following criteria:

  • First and foremost, the Hebrew Calendar will fall within the confines of GOD’s Book of the Law.

  • The Hebrew Calendar will be aligned with the previous and succeeding years and not interfere with the course of either.

  • The Hebrew Calendar will have safeguards that will insure a complete lunar and solar calendar.

I applaud all Brothers and Sisters who have it in their hearts to pray to the Holy ONE of Israel for wisdom and humility in establishing this our Hebrew Calendar. And I thank Sister Penninah for all the copies provided and for the food provided, and I greatly appreciate all who made this meeting possible.

FINDING THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD

Remember how GOD chose and lead the Prophet Abraham?

HE took him from Ur and offered him a lasting program.

The deal was to keep GOD’s Covenant and live HIS Holy Law,

FIFTH ENTRY:

Sleep was the last thing on James' mind. He knew there was something he had to do. He had found his God, and now, he had to learn to know Him and to please Him. James got up and walked to each bedroom to check on his family. They were all fast asleep. James didn't care about them seeing him in prayer; he just didn't want them interrupting him once he got started. He thought to himself as he walked back to the living room that one day he was going to have a house big enough to have a room just for prayer with a sign outside the door indicating whether or not the room was occupied.

As James entered the living room, he determined which direction was the east or Jerusalem and knelt on his knees. He wasn't quite sure where to begin as he had so much on his mind.

"Dear God of Israel, I've only recently found out about you, therefore, I don't know much, but I'm interested, and I want to learn everything I can in order to be acceptable in your eyes. Forgive me and my family for our sins. Lead me and guide me, Holy One of Israel. Help me to teach my family about you and your laws.

"Put your laws in my heart and in the hearts of my wife and children so that we serve you in harmony and one does not turn the other away from worshipping you.

"Please, Almighty God of Abraham, if Israel is our home, then allow us to return where we can worship you in Jerusalem, your holy city, and show the world that YOU are the true and living God and that there is none else.

"Remember the promises you made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to Moses, King David, King Solomon, and to the Prophets to recover a remnant.

"Take us home, God of Israel. Don't prolong the days. Don't let our captors say that you have cast us off forever. Let them know that your covenant with your people is real and still exists.

"God of Israel, since I've known the truth about you, I've wanted to go home to Israel. Please, give us patience to wait on you and don't let us destroy ourselves while we wait.

"Take me home, God of Israel. Please, take me home."

James fell asleep while kneeling on the floor over the living room chair. Hattie awoke in the middle of the night and was startled to see that her husband wasn't in bed. She quickly ran through the apartment turning on lights and looking for James. When she found him kneeling on the floor, she knelt beside him, hugged him, and whispered his name.

"James," she said softly, "honey, you fell asleep here in the living room. It's late. Let's go to bed, sweetheart." James turned to Hattie, and she could see from his swollen eyes that he

had been crying.

"But...Hattie...Hattie, I want to go home."

 

 

"Behold, I will gather them out of all countries,

whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in

my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them

again unto this place, and I will cause them to

dwell safely:

"And they shall be my people, and I will be their

God:

"And I will give them one heart, and one way, that

they may fear me for ever, for the good of them,

and of their children after them:

"And I will make an everlasting covenant with them,

that, I will not turn away from them, to do them

good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that

I will plant them in this land assuredly with my

all this great evil upon this people, so will I

bring upon them all the good that I have promised
