THE LAWKEEPERS, CO.

The LawKeepers Co. is a federally recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation as designated by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Department of the Treasury. The Corporation was officially re-organized as a New York state corporation in May 2002 and received the Employer Identification Number (EIN) 76-0703028 in June 2002. Finally, the corporation received an “advanced ruling” for its 501(c)(3) status on May 23^rd 2003.

As required by the United Nations (UN), in September 2005, two years subsequent to receiving its 501(c)(3) designation; The LawKeepers Co submitted its application to become a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) member to the UN. Final determination on the NGO application by the UN is expected by April 2007. NGO status with the UN allows its member institutions equal opportunity to participate in UN related discussions on issues affecting minority groups throughout the world.

The requirement to maintain the status of exemption from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is that the corporation must complete federal tax Form 8734 “Support Schedule for Advance Ruling Period” and Form 990 “Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax”.

As the President of The LawKeepers, Co., it is my responsibility to see to it that these forms are filed within the required time period in order for The LawKeepers, Co. to maintain its 501(c)(3) exempt status. Basically Form 8734 and 990 report all incomes, expense items, as well as any assets and liabilities of the corporation.

The required reporting period for the corporation is 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. A non-profit organization is required to file Form 8734 at the conclusion of its “advanced ruling period” if it is a “newly created organization,” The LawKeepers, Co. “advanced ruling period” ended on December 31, 2006. Form 990 is required to be filed by a not-for-profit organization when “annual gross receipts are normally more than $25,000”.

In the past, the corporation has received donations from contributors in the U.S. and abroad every year since receiving 501(c)(3) status but never has the corporation’s receipts from donors totaled $25,000, $10,000 or not even $2000 in any single year. In addition, the cumulative donations to the corporation since receiving 501(c)(3) designation have been no where near the IRS required amount for reporting contributions.

The LawKeepers’ Co. website informs the general public and Yisraelites specifically what the “Mission” of the organization is, what the “Purpose” of the organization is, what the “Goals” of the organization are, what the “Objectives” of the organization are and finally “What We [The LawKeepers] Believe.”

The LawKeepers, Co. remains committed to its “reason for being” as stated in the preceding paragraph and on our WebSite, and we invite all potential donors to make a tax deductible contribution so that we will meet the requirements for filing our Form 990 annually. As a “publicly supported organization” the LawKeepers, Co. must complete and file Form 8734 and Form 990 with the IRS; for public information the forms will also be posted to our [The LawKeepers] WebSite. Tribute to the New Moon Revised:

The service of this solar/lunar calendar of TORAH READINGS is by definition using the “LIGHTS” of the sun and moon, according to Genesis 1:14, to number the “days” of each month. And the dark phases of the moon cooperatively and conveniently provide a break between the months. If there were no dark phases of the moon, we would have a tough time determining when one month ended and when another would begin. Hence, because the Commandment is to use the “Lights” in the Heavens for “Signs” for seasons, days, and years, the New Moon Crescent is what provides us with our first lights of each new month and these lights continue waxing and waning until they are diminished to the dark phases. And then in two to three days, the New Moon Crescent reappears again starting the First Day of another new month.

Realizing that even some Israelites use the dark phase of the moon to call the new month, I would like to add one obvious fact. By definition, there can only be a “New Moon,” per se, after the dark phase interval and when the New Moon Crescent reappears, thus, we understand the concept of having a “New” moon.

If the dark phase of the moon begins the First Day of the month, then when the New Moon Crescent is “Sighted” that could approximately be as far into the month as the Fourth Day, i.e., the appearance of the “Light” in the Heavens could possibly fall on the Fourth Day. It makes no sense to start to count the first dark phase of the moon as being the First Day of the month, as this process disregards the use of the “Light” in the Heavens to determine our “days,” as we are Commanded to do in Genesis 1:14. Consider what King David said in I Samuel 20:24: “…when the New Moon was come…” He had to be speaking about the New Moon Crescent, as we are unable to “Sight” the appearance of the dark phase or rather see it “come.”

It’s the absence of seeing the moon for forty-eight or more hours that enables us to identify the approaching Crescent “Sign” in the Heavens (mentioned in Genesis 1:14) that recognizes the moon as being “New.” And upon “Sighting” this “New” Crescent” we distinguish it as being the “New Moon” and the time of the New Month, as well.

PLEASE NOTE: The Hebrew New Year is also determined by the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens and not by the “sighting of barley,” as some Black Hebrew Israelites and European “Jews” advocate.
