A
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE LAWKEEPERS, CO.:
HIGH HOLY DAYS
BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
Let us prepare our hearts for the
celebrations that are to begin with the New Moon sighting for this holiday
season.
The first of the HIGH HOLY DAYS to
be celebrated is the “Memorial of Blowing of Trumpets”.
Leviticus 23:24 – “Speak unto the
children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first [day] of the
month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy
convocation.”
Numbers 29:1 – “And in the seventh
month, on the first [day] of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye
shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”
The second observance of these HIGH
HOLY DAYS is, “Yom Kippoor” a time of fasting and atonement.
Leviticus 23:27 – “Also on the
tenth [day] of this seventh month [there shall be] a day of atonement: it shall
be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an
offering made by fire unto the LORD.”
Leviticus 23:28 – “And ye shall do
no work in that same day: for it [is] a day of atonement, to make an atonement
for you before the LORD your God.”
The third celebration of the HIGH
HOLY DAYS is “The Feast of Tabernacle (Dwelling in Booths)”.
Leviticus 23:34 – “Speak unto the
children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month [shall be]
the feast of tabernacles [for] seven days unto the LORD.”
Deuteronomy 16:13 – “Thou shalt
observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in
thy corn and thy wine:”
On
behalf of the LawKeepers I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our
Yisraelite family a happy HIGH HOLY DAY SEASON.

Tribute
to the New Moon Revised:
PLEASE
TAKE PART IN “SIGHTING” THE NEW MOON (The First Day of the Month) -
START
THE NEXT NEW MOON WATCH ON THE EVENINGS OF
OCTOBER
6,7,8, 2002
BY
LOOKING IN THE “WEST” JUST ABOVE THE HORIZON.
“He
appointed the moon for seasons…”
Psalm
104:19
The first
“Sign” in the Heavens to provide the start of days, years and “seasons” can
only begin with the “Sighting” of the New Moon Crescent - that which we can “see”
in order for it to serve as a “Sign” and enable us to begin counting our
days. Just imagine not being able to “see” the moon at all.
How then could it be appointed for seasons?
“The natural thought might be that the moon is like a living being. It is born, grows, reaches maximum size, then fades and dies, going through all these stages in one month. Even today, we still talk of the thin crescent in the western sky as a new moon and the thin crescent in the eastern sky a month later as the old moon. Half way between is the full moon. As I explained earlier, this cycle of phases of the moon established the month as a unit of time, and the first calendars were based on this.” ISAAC ASIMOV’S GUIDE TO EARTH AND SPACE, pages 79 and 80
In that the
King of Israel is supposed to be a “Righteous Judge” (II Chronicles
1:11), it stands to reason that he is also supposed to be a “Righteous Role
Model.” Thus, if the King that GOD appoints over Israel observes a “feast”
on the day of the New Moon, then wisdom tells the Nation of Israel to do
likewise. King Saul and the anointed David observed this service (I
Samuel 20th Chapter).
To their and
our hurt our forefathers worshipped all manner of symbols: the sun, moon,
stars, and images of gold and silver. To observe the “Sign” in the
heavens as being the New Moon “Sighting” is NOT worshipping the moon, but
rather it is doing as we are COMMANDED in Genesis 1:14.
***
“Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
“Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
“Blow
up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed,
on our solemn feast day.
“For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.”
Psalm 81:1 - 4
(A Psalm of Asaph, the Seer - one who should be well informed about GOD’s Ways)
“Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for
a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.”
Numbers
10:10
Contrary to
the belief of some Israelites, the moon does indeed shine! Whether the
Moon shines on its own or with the aid of the sun, IT STILL SHINES!
And the fact that Scripture attests to this fact, is what’s important: Isaiah
60:19; Jeremiah 31:35; and Ezekiel 32:7. Therefore, Genesis 1:14
is proof enough that we must use the shining New Moon Crescents as “…SIGNS,
AND FOR SEASONS, AND FOR DAYS, AND FOR YEARS:”
Some
Israelites, along with White Jews, use the dark phase of the moon to determine
the start of a new month. If the dark phase of the moon lasts for
“2-3 days,” then which of these days is supposed to be the distinguishing “Sign”
that determines the First Day of the month? Or do we just arbitrarily
select either, depending on the imaginations of our hearts? On the
contrary, with the use of the sighted “Sign” of the New Moon Crescent in
the Heavens we eliminate any confusion as to which day IS the First
Day of the month. The only problem that presents itself is cloud
coverage that prevents the ability to see the New Moon Crescent.
Nonetheless, one can easily distinguish the New Moon Crescent “Sighting” from
all the other phases due to its thin sliver and its low position in the
heavens, and the reason is that no two days or rather phases of the visible
moon are alike. Thus, to use the New Moon Crescent as the “Sign” in
the heavens, as we are COMMANDED to do for our seasons, days, and years,
negates the belief that the “commandment was given to the luminaries.”
The “luminaries” fulfill GOD’s Commandments: the sun shines and the moon
orbits the Earth. They have no need to determine seasons, days, and
years. Hence, our New Moons are obviously of more spiritual
significance to the Nation of Israel than we are aware. And for
sure, the TRUTH concerning them are in GOD’s WORD to HIS Prophets/Seers - not
the White Jews or other Gentiles. All we need do is use wisdom, discern
what’s written in Scripture, and accept it!
And to those who believe that the New Moon is the Full Moon, I have but this to say: “The Full Moon cannot be the ‘New’ Moon because the month’s moon is visible for 14 days prior to the Full Moon, thus, conflicting with it being “New.” And even if one accepts that the Full Moon is the New Moon, it would appear that the “dark phases” of the moon would render this assumption incorrect. Reason being that once the moon is in the “dark phase” it just makes sense to start counting the days of the month (when the moon is “lighted” at the time of the “Crescent”) – 1 to 29.5 days in accordance with Genesis 1:14. I would like to also add that if one starts counting day one at the time of the Full Moon, once they get to day 14/15, the moon is no longer visible but rather is in its ‘dark phase’.” The “dark phase” signals the end of the month and the coming of a “New” one.
Unless there is
an emergency, please try not to buy or sell on this day. Conduct all
financial and business transactions prior to the day of the New Moon.
Interesting enough, II Kings 4:23,24 constitutes the New Moon as being a day to
seek “the man of God.” Although the New Moon is NOT a Day of Rest, Our
GOD did set it aside for recognition:
“Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.” Psalm 81:3
“And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 66:23
“…When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn?…” Amos 8:5
Probably, the Scripture that most determines and clarifies the fact that our New Moons are Feast Days is Ezekiel 45:17:
“And it shall be the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the NEW MOONS, and in the Sabbaths, in ALL SOLEMNITIES of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the HOUSE OF ISRAEL.” (Caps. are mine.)
Unequivocally, our New Moons are included in these
“SOLEMNITIES” mentioned in Ezekiel 45:17.
“Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the Sabbaths [Feasts – NOT 7th Day Sabbaths*] and in the NEW MOONS.” Ezekiel 46:3 (Brackets are mine.)
Thereby, this justifies the First Day of each month being our “Feast” Day. It should be realized that the Feast Days that Our GOD selected are “Holy Convocations,” i.e., on these days we cannot do any work. However, because King Saul observed the New Moon as a Feast Day, we have every reason to do so, as well. We also have learned that our forefathers traveled to the Temple to worship the Holy ONE on the New Moon (II Kings 4:23 and Ezekiel 45:17), and when HE has HIS Temple rebuilt, then we will be able to resume this service once again.
When we return to our heritage and worship YIHOVAH according to HIS Ways, then we can establish our own “Calendar of the Universe,” whereby, the days of the New Moon and all GOD’s Holy Days will be recognized by the whole entire World.

SOME QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
“Speak unto
the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the
month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy
convocation.” Leviticus 23:24
Why has the
Holy ONE given us this Feast Day (the Memorial of Blowing of Trumpets) to keep
it “Holy?”
***
“Three times
in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which
he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks,
and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD
empty:
“Every man
shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which
he hath given thee.” Deuteronomy 16:16,17
What is the
importance of the Holy ONE of Israel COMMANDING the Israelites to observe the
Feasts of Passover, Weeks, and Tabernacles in Jerusalem?
***
“For in mine holy mountain, in
the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall
all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept
them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your
oblations, with all your holy things.” Ezekiel 20:40
Why does the Holy ONE stress,
“There will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, the
firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things?”
Please feel free to contribute responses to these questions, and if so, they will be published in the next JOURNAL.

HINTS FOR HARDY, HEALTHY HEBREWS:
In that this is the time of “Ingathering” when we are COMMANDED to rejoice before the Holy ONE of Israel in HIS Holy City, Jerusalem, I thought it might be worthwhile to provide interesting information on “Honey” since the “Land of Israel” is referred to as “The Land Flowing with Milk and Honey.” But first please permit me to denote just a few of the many passages in the TORAH and other Scriptures that make mention of “Honey.”
“And
I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of
the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and
honey.” Exodus 3:17
“And
as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in
abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the
increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in
abundantly.” II Chronicles 31:5
“But
ten men were found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not: for we have
treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So
he forbare, and slew them not among their brethren.” Jeremiah 41:8
“Thus
wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and
silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and
thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a
kingdom.” Ezekiel 16:13
Be amazed that the Holy ONE indeed used the perfect example to describe HIS Holy Land! Now, read about the benefits of ingesting honey and its other many uses, as well.

THE MANY BENEFITS OF HONEY
by
The National Honey Board of 1998
Anti-oxidant benefits-
Whether you stir honey into your tea or coffee, spread it on your toast or enjoy it by the spoonful, you can feel great about boosting your daily supply of anti-oxidants with each delicious mouthful. "Anti-oxidants perform the role of eliminating free radicals, which are reactive compounds in our bodies," says Dr. Susan Percival. "Free radicals are created through the normal process of metabolism and are believed to contribute to many serious diseases when left unchecked." Honey contains several compounds that function as anti-oxidants; one of which is unique to honey, called pinocembrin.
A quick source of Energy-
If you feel a boost of energy after eating honey, you're not imagining it! "Honey is a natural mixture of the simple sugars glucose and fructose. Recent studies suggest that this unique mixture of sugars works best in preventing fatigue and enhancing athletic performance." says Dr. Percival.
Anti-microbial benefits-
The next time you have a minor burn or scrape, reach
for your honey squeeze bear. Honey is an effective antimicrobial agent.
Antimicrobial agents inhibit the growth of certain bacteria, yeast and molds.
Honey is antimicrobial for many reasons, including its high sugar content,
which limit the amount of water available to microorganisms for growth; its
relatively high acidity (low pH); and its low protein content, which deprives
bacteria of nitrogen needed for growth. The presence in honey of hydrogen
peroxide and the antioxidants honey contains also inhibit bacterial growth.
When used to treat minor skin injuries, honey's hygroscopic nature, that is,
its ability to draw moisture from the air, promotes healing, helps prevent
scarring and keeps the injured area from adhering to the bandage.
Honey for Keeps-
Always store honey at room temperature, never in the
refrigerator. Keep a jar handy in the kitchen and another in the bathroom. If
your honey becomes cloudy or granular, part of honey's natural process of
crystallization, you can easily restore it to a liquid state. Simply place the
honey jar in warm water and stir until the crystals dissolve.
Many Sources-
There are approximately 300 varieties of honey in the
U.S. Because of the variety of floral sources from which honey originates, no
two honeys are exactly alike in flavor. In general, lighter-colored honeys are
milder in flavor while darker-colored honeys are bolder in flavor. Darker
honeys also tend to have a higher mineral content and antioxidant potential.
Honey - It's an Original-
Honey, well known as nature's original sweetener, is
being rediscovered as a natural way to better health. Honey has always been
prized for its delicious sweetness and flavor, but did you know that throughout
the centuries it's also been valued for therapeutic and medicinal uses? For
example:
Physicians in ancient Rome used honey to help their patients fall asleep.
Hippocrates, the Greek physician, praised honey's healing powers and formulated many honey-based cures for ailments like skin disorders, ulcers and sores.
The ancient Egyptians used honey to treat cataracts, open wounds, cuts and burns.
In WWI, German doctors used honey mixed with cod liver oil to surgically dress soldier's wounds sustained in battle.
For years, opera singers have used honey to boost their energy and soothe their throats before performances.
The Latest Scientific Buzz-
In a recent review of related literature, Dr. Susan
Percival of the University of Florida's Food Science and Human Nutrition
Department found that honey contains antioxidants and, though in trace amounts,
a wide array of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Microbiologist Richard
Stier, conducting a separate literature review, has also found that honey's
unique composition makes it an effective antimicrobial agent, useful for
treating minor burns and scrapes, and for aiding treatment of sore throats and
other bacterial infections.
Vitamins, Minerals and Amino Acids in ever Bite-
"When you consider that the source of honey is
floral nectars, it's not surprising to learn that honey contains a wide array
of vitamins, such as vitamin B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic
acid" says Dr. Percival. "Essential minerals, such as calcium,
copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc are
also found in honey."
In addition, several different amino acids have been
identified in honey. Although these vitamins, minerals and amino acids appear
in trace amounts and vary in amount by floral source, they contribute to your
overall nutrition intake. It is the exceptionally wide variety of vitamins,
minerals and amino acids that is most exciting.
A Spoonful a Day:
The old saying is "you are what you eat."
Recent studies by Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc. show that antioxidants in the diet also
play a role in protecting the skin from the damage of the sun and other
environmental stresses. In addition to antioxidants, honey provides a wide
array of essential vitamins and minerals at trace levels and is a source of
quick energy. Although sweeteners generally do not contain protein, several different
amino acids, the building blocks of protein, have been identified in honey. To
reap the benefits of honey's healthful properties, make honey part of your
daily diet, along with plenty of fruits, vegetables and water.
Suggestions for Honey:
Stir a teaspoon of honey into your morning citrus juice or drizzle it over a grapefruit half.
Replace your second cup of coffee with green tea sweetened with honey.
Stir a spoonful of honey into a glass of water before heading out for your morning jog or a trip to the gym.
Add honey and fresh fruit to yogurt for a power-packed snack.
Apply honey directly to minor cuts, scrapes and burns to help prevent infection. Applying honey and bandaging will promote faster healing and may help prevent scarring.
A spoonful of honey added to hot tea is a great way to soothe a sore throat.
Use honey to sweeten your oatmeal or high-fiber breakfast food.
Stir honey into peanut butter and use it as a dip for carrots or celery.
Sweeten coffee and tea with honey
Dip apple slices and other fresh fruit in honey.
Dress up a snack of crackers and cheese with a dab of honey.
To replenish fluids after exercising, stir a spoonful of honey into a glass of water.

HONEY IN MEDICINE
It is found that mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures most
of the diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world.
Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine
for centuries. Scientists of today also accept honey as a "Ram Ban"
(very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without
any side effects for any kind of diseases. Today's science says that even
though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not
harm diabetic patients. A famous magazine named Weekly World News published in
Canada dated 17 January, 95 has given a list of diseases that can be cured by
Honey and Cinnamon as researched by western scientists.
HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread
or chappati instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It
reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart
attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process
daily, are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above
process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heartbeat. In America and
Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found
that due to the increasing age the arteries and veins, which lose their
flexibility and get clogged, are revitalized.
ARTHRITIS:
Take one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add
a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching
part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or
two. Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water
with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken
regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted
at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their
patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon cinnamon
powder before breakfast, they found that within a week out of the 200 people so
treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain and within a
month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of
arthritis started walking without pain.
HAIR LOSS:
Those suffering from hair loss or baldness, may apply a
paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon
powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It
was found to be effective even if kept on for 5 minutes.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder an d one teaspoon
of honey in a glass of luke warm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in
the bladder.
TOOTHACHE:
Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five
teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be applied 3 times a
day till the tooth stops aching.
mixes with the saliva and enters the body. A couple in
Maryland, America had no children for 14 years and had lost hope of having a
child of their own. When told about this process husband and wife started
taking honey and cinnamon as stated above, the wife conceived after a few
months and had twins at full term.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomachache and also
clears stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India & Japan, it is
revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of
gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the
immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists
have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant
use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral
diseases.
INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken
before food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.
INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a
natural ingredient, which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from
flu.
LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken
regularly arrests the ravages of old age. Take 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of
cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4cup, 3
to 4 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life
spans also increases and even a 100 years old, starts performing the chores of
a 20-year-old.

It’s no wonder
the Land of Israel is compared to “flowing…milk and honey.” And no
doubt the above information is but the tip of the ice berg. There’s
so much we have to learn about the benefits of living in our land and following
the Ways of Our Holy ONE of Israel! Just about all people live for
prosperity, happiness, and good health. But
if people would just seek the True and Living
GOD in Righteousness and in joyfulness and live for HIM, then prosperity,
happiness and good health would be a given and without asking.
“Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.” Deuteronomy 29:9
“Only be thou strong and very courageous that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goet.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:7,8
“Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
“And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.” Deuteronomy 7:14,15
Unfortunately, if we do not seek the GOD of Israel and are not obedient to HIS Laws, Statutes, and Judgments, then the other end of the spectrum is nothing to look forward to:
“If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
“Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuace.
“Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wst afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.” Deuteronomy 28:58,59
“Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
“Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.” Deuteronomy 28:47,48
This sounds like the TransAtlantic Slave Trade, right? Well, it is! But we can get out of this captivity by returning to the Holy ONE of Israel and HIS Book of the Law.
During this season of observing GOD’s Feast Days, let us pray that Our Holy ONE of Israel will soon show us HIS Mercy just as HE did with our forefathers who were in bondage down in Egypt, as well as serve justice to our enemies as HE did to the Ancient Egyptians. Thereby, HE would be enabling us to return to our heritage and fulfill Ezekiel 20:40.

May the Holy ONE of Israel be with us to keep us safe and informed in order that we make wise and healthy decisions.

The Israelites
received Reparations for their free labor when they left out of Egypt (Exodus
12:35,36, Psalm 105:37). Note also that Reparations were given to
Ezra for the building of GOD’s Temple and for the service of the House of the
LORD GOD of Israel (Ezra 7:12 –21). And it is prophesied that we will
again receive compensation for our free labor and bondage in this modern-day
Egypt (all the lands that took Israelites captive):
“The Lord said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.” Jeremiah 15:11

GOD’s EVERLASTING LIGHT

the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and
reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

I think that the most awesome experiences of all that we can do and of a lifetime involve serving and worshipping the Most High GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, keeping HIS Law and observing HIS Holy Days, in particular HIS frequent Sabbaths of Rest, which I enjoy immensely. These observances are indeed enlightening and rewarding experiences that reflect absolute “LIGHT” on the Creator, the All-Mighty GOD that established them specifically for HIS Praise and Glory.
Since the Garden of Eden, the Most High GOD has expressed that HIS Will be done. After HE Created Heaven and Earth, the very first thing GOD Created was “LIGHT.” Then after HE Created “man,” HE Created another “LIGHT” - HIS “Word and TRUTH” to be shared with the “man” HE had made and to be observed FOR EVER. It’s no wonder that this GOD, the Creator, never once changed HIS Ways but passed them on to Adam, Noah, and to HIS Chosen People to live and do them always.
But “man” rejected the GOD that Created them and flatly refused to carry HIS “LIGHT” and preferred to live in darkness. With this attitude, the Holy ONE was not at all pleased. HE became very upset and aggravated with this “man” HE had Created - the one amazing phenomenon HE Created that thought itself as wise as the All-Mighty GOD all because he could think, solve problems, and create his own gods. The True and Living GOD would have none of this nonsense and vowed to destroy “man” with the exception of one - Noah (and his family), who had found grace with this GOD and enjoyed peace and satisfaction in this magnificent “LIGHT” that GOD had established to guide mankind into HIS Ways of Righteousness.
As a result of “evil man” turning GOD’s world back into a void and darkness, the Creator destroyed all life on Earth with a FLOOD that produced forty days and forty nights of treacherous, deadly rains.
After the FLOOD, the Most High GOD remained confident that eventually HE would be able to find a people who would accept HIM and carry HIS “LIGHT” for all the world to see and who would with all their hearts choose to illuminate their lives with the goodness and prosperity that it offers.
GOD, the Creator was so right! HE found Abram, changed his name to Abraham, gave him the Land of Canaan, and made an everlasting Covenant with him to be a GOD to him and to his SEED FOREVER.
“…thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
“And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
“For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.” II Samuel 7:22 - 24
“Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.” Hosea 13:4
It was good that Abraham taught his son Isaac and Isaac taught his son Jacob (whose name GOD changed to Israel) to love their Creator and bear HIS “LIGHT” at all times. These three men and their SEED up until Kings David and Solomon were devoted to their GOD and lived for HIM in good health and abundant peace and prosperity, as long as they served and worshipped their Most High GOD of Israel by keeping HIS Laws in Righteousness.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
“Now, my son, (King David speaking to his son David) the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
“Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
“Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
“Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
“Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
“Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.” I Chronicles 22:11:16
“…Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” II Chronicles 20:20
Unfortunately GOD’s joy in having a Chosen People who would carry HIS Special “LIGHT” for HIS Praise and Glory was short lived, and the reason is that Jacob’s children, the twelve tribes turned out to be a most rebellious and stiffnecked lot.
Although the Israelites forsook their GOD of Israel, HE stayed with them even when HE caused their enemies to triumph over them. At these times their GOD of Israel sent them Saviors to save them out of their captivity hoping that this would make them decide to serve and worship only HIM. But it didn’t, and it should be noted that many, many times the Most High GOD of Israel saved them out of affliction but to no avail.
“Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to t
