We know that this is the year 2008 on the Gregorian Calendar, but unfortunately, I do not know exactly what year it is on the Hebrew Calendar since the time that the CREATOR chose Abram. But I do know that we must recognize what the Holy ONE said in Exodus 12:2: “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” Hence, it seems feasible that at this COMMANDMENT, we should start to record the first year. However, just for your information, according to present day records, it is documented that Moses lived around the 15th – 13th centuries B.C.E (a gap of 200 years). Therefore, this knowledge should be considered when reading history books.

HOW THIS HEBREW CALENDAR IS DETERMINED:
There are in fact other Hebrew Israelite Calendars in existence, but I like to think of this one as being rather unique. It is based totally on GOD’s Book of the Law and begins “TORAH” Readings with Exodus 12th Chapter in correlation with the New Moon “Sighting” which identifies the start of Spring/Abib – the Beginning of Months unto us (Exodus 12:2). It provides TORAH “Readings” (the First Five Books, respectively throughout the year) for each Seventh Day Sabbath of Complete Rest, New Moon, and Holy Feast Day, excluding the Feast of Weeks, because the LAW does not denote a particular “date” for this Feast Day as it does for the others. Therefore, rather than add to the LAW, the observance of the Feast of Weeks is purposely left out. (More information on the Feast of Weeks follows a few pages down.) This Hebrew Calendar is also special in that it enlightens those who are “new” to the Truth and who seriously seek to follow ONLY the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 3:15).
This OUR Hebrew Calendar starts with every Spring or “Aviv/Abib” – at the New Moon Sighting for the First Day of the New Year.
"Thou shalt keep the feast of
unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I
commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it
thou camest out from
Exodus 23:15
Thus, this Hebrew Calendar is determined by the New Moon “Sighting” that falls on or after the Spring equinox:
"The path taken by the sun, however, is at an angle
to the equator. The noonday sun
shines directly on the equator on March 20th every year, and on that
date, night and day are each twelve hours long all over the Earth. This day is known as the vernal equinox,
since vernal comes from the Latin word for spring, and equinox from the Latin
word for equal night." Isaac
Asimov's Guide to Earth and Space, pp. 19
“The equinoxes are the two points of intersection between the ecliptic (the Sun's apparent annual path) and the celestial equator (the equator of the CELESTIAL SPHERE). The two moments in the year when the Sun is exactly over the equator, and day and night are hence of equal length, are the times of these equinoxes. In the Northern Hemisphere the vernal, or spring equinox occurs about March 21, and the autumnal equinox occurs about September 23. In the Southern Hemisphere the seasons are reversed.” Grolier 1996
“March (month), third month of the Gregorian calendar, according to the present
calendar. March was the first month of the Roman year, named after Mars, the god
of war. In
The use of the “equinox“ enables us to sustain a solar calendar in compliance with Genesis 1:14. If we use a date before the “equinox” we would be creating a New Year before one actually begins. Hence, the “equinox” (observance March 19-21) serves as a checks and balance system to ensure that we maintain a Hebrew Calendar that begins in the Spring of every year, and that we observe Passover at the appointed time in its season, which is “in the first month of the year.”
“And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the
first month of the second year after they were come out of the

“He [GOD] appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.” Psalm 104:19
With this Hebrew Calendar,
the “Spring Season” begins at the “Sighting” of the New Moon on or after the
spring equinox! On this Hebrew Calendar,
each month lists three days for the “New Moon Crescent Watch,” which is when
we attempt to Sight the

Some Hebrew Israelites used to follow this same process for determining the New Year, except if they thought the Crescent Moon appeared too soon or too far from a designated date in March, then they would manipulate their calendar. However, they have since changed this practice, as they realized that it would have been wrong to manipulate their calendar to cause the New Year to fall at their discretion. In my opinion this is just as bad as what the Jewish Rabbinate does with preventing the Day of Atonement to fall on a certain day of the week. The New Moon Crescent of the New Year should be able to flow as the CREATOR permits it to do and without our tampering with the Solar/Lunar Calendar AND without looking for barley to determine the start of the New Year, which, unfortunately, is now the practice of the “Calendar Coalition,” who used to manipulate their calendar. The “Calendar Coalition” is a group of Israelites who established a Calendar based on a “Barley Search.”
Waiting for the observance of mature barley before calling the Hebrew New Year is not what we have been Commanded to do, but rather this method is adding to GOD’s WORD. According to Genesis 1:14, we must use the “Lights” in the Heavens to determine our Seasons, Days, and Years, and this method does not entail a search for mature or green ears of barley. The CREATOR's means of reckoning time entails watching for the “Signs” in the Heavens that HE put in place specifically so that we will have no problems recognizing our Seasons, Days, and Years. And with this information, we are able to observe GOD's Holy Feast Days at the appointed times, in their seasons.
Yes, for real, as ridiculous as it may seem, some Israelites depend on a “Barley Sighting” to call the start of the New Year. This method can prove to be a faulty and inconsistent manner of determining such an important event if barley is not found. Suppose because of a drought, there is no barley, or suppose because the temperatures are so warm during the winter months that the barley appears in February (as happened in 2003), do we start the Passover observance dependent on this early sighting of barley? Of course NOT! Obviously, the use of the spring equinox serves as a better and more reliable indicator of Abib/Aviv, the Spring Season, i.e., the beginning of months unto us! And we cannot rule out the mature barley that exists but goes unnoticed. This would be a definite problem for those on the annual search for barley.
We cannot afford to follow the inventions of our hearts but to follow only the WORD of Our GOD of Israel, and right now all we have for establishing a Hebrew Calendar is Genesis 1:14 for determining our Seasons, Days, and Years. So, we may as well work with it intelligently and with civility. The beginning of time (Seasons, Days, and Years) started in the First Chapter of Genesis, and this is where we need to be focused. Our CREATOR GOD gave good examples of how we were to reckon the 24-hour day, e.g., the evening and the morning were the First Day…the evening and the morning were the Second Day, etc. Likewise, HE designated use of the sun, moon, and even the stars to determine days, seasons, months, and years.
Nevertheless, some Israelites are still adamant about searching for mature barley before calling the Hebrew New Year. We are supposed to be wise from keeping GOD’s LAW, so how can we ignore Genesis 1:14 for "barley", which has nothing to do with "Lights" in the Firmament for establishing a Hebrew Calendar that is so important to our Spirituality. Using “barley” and not the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens is analogous with using the groundhog to see if there will be six more weeks of winter. Seriously, think about it!
Every Brother who stands by the
“Barley Search” for the Hebrew New Year justifies this assumed method by making
a connection with barley (green young ears) and
Well, this, too, makes no sense, as the Nation of Israel did not get involved with crops and grains (green/young ears) until after the 40-year period in the Wilderness. During the 40 years in the Wilderness, the Holy ONE had the Israelites WANDERING constantly from one place to another. Therefore, agriculture cannot serve as evidence for the use of a “Barley Search” for the “beginning of months,” unto the Israelites, because in the Wilderness, there was nothing even to suggest that any cultivation was taking place. And to even make mention of “agriculture” to prove a “Barley Search,” is not only out of the question, but the notion is completely without merit. We cannot prove a “Barley Search” for our Hebrew New Years by a means (agriculture) that existed AFTER the Israelites left out of the Wilderness. Therefore, AGAIN, we must use that which makes sense. We must use what we have been Commanded to use:
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Genesis 1:14
Not only that, but the drought in the Wilderness prevented barley
growth and any other kind of growth, as the Holy ONE’s Plan was to feed the
Nation of Israel Manna HIMSELF in order to prove them to see if they would keep
HIS LAW or not.
“…the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;” Deuteronomy 8:14 – 16
“Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?” Jeremiah 2:6
“Yet I am the LORD thy God from the
Therefore, it is not at all likely the Israelites used a “Barley
Search” during the forty (40) years they were wandering in the Wilderness to
determine each New Year, as that would contradict the existence of a drought in
the above passages, as well as the use of only Manna to eat, to prove the
Israelites.
“Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” Exodus 16:29
Unfortunately, we, Israelites, still have not learned to walk in YAH’s LAW, even with Commandments that are clear as crystal to do, and this has been OUR PROBLEM ever since Our SAVIOR chose us for HIS Covenant People.
However, my question is, “If there were a drought in the Wilderness and an absence of barley and any other produce to eat, then how did the Israelites determine the start of each New Year?” My wisdom tells me that they calculated the New Moon Crescent “Sighting,” just as did David (I Samuel 20:5), according to what's written in Genesis 1:14, of course.
Another component the “Calendar Coalition” uses for its Calendar is the
“Leap Year.” Leap years have no
place in Hebrew/Israelite Culture and are an invention of Gentiles, for making
their fabricated calendars jibe with the CREATOR’s Solar and Lunar
Systems. With the Hebrew Calendar
established by using ONLY the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens (Genesis 1:14), the sun
and the New Moon Crescent, there is absolutely no reason for a contrived leap
year, which can only develop a hybrid calendar at best. By the
way, Julius Caesar is the father of the Leap Year.
I truly pray that we will come together on GOD’s Book of the Law and
HIS WORD to HIS Prophets, as well as our Hebrew New Year without disdain for
people who dispute ideals that do not correlate with what “THUS SAITH THE
LORD.” At some point, we are to take
our places as the People of the Covenant who will know and be about nothing but
living and doing GOD’s LAW without adding to or taking from it but rather

It’s the absence of seeing
the moon for forty-eight or more hours that enables us to identify the

PLEASE NOTE: The Hebrew New Year is also determined by the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens and not by the “sighting of barley.”
For several years I have known that the White “Jews” (excluding the Karaites) use a pre-calculated nineteen-year cycle of intercalation based on the “Dark Phases” or concealed moon, for the First Day of the month of their “Jewish Calendar.” They do not start their New Year with the search for mature barley, as do the Karaites, but they do use leap years in order to maintain adjustments in their calendars.
The Rabbinate does not use the “lights in
the firmament…for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” By their using the “dark phases” of the moon,
then they are able to manipulate their calendar to register the start of the
month on whichever day they choose. For example, The Day of Atonement will
never fall on a Friday.
“While all
other fast days that fall on the Sabbath in a particular year are postponed to
Sunday, Yom Kippur must be observed on its appointed day: the tenth day of Tishri, as prescribed in the
Bible. The calendar was designed so that the tenth of Tishri should not fall
on a Friday, Sunday, or Tuesday.
“If Yom Kippur were to fall on a Friday, it would be impossible to prepare food for the Sabbath. If it were to fall on a Sunday, it would be impossible to do on the Sabbath all that is necessary to prepare for the fast. If it were to fall on a Tuesday, Hoshana Rabba would fall on the Sabbath and the requirement that aravot (willows) be beaten would not be able to be observed, for this would be a violation of the Sabbath.” THE JEWISH BOOK OF WHY, page 241
“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” Deuteronomy 12:32
Tampering with GOD’s Book of the Law is a very serious violation, and the above Commandment proves that the Rabbinate defies GOD’s Ordinance by establishing their own religious doctrine, when they are clearly adding to and taking from GOD’s Law. And the above book does not hesitate to inform readers of exactly how White religious Jews go about doing this.
At this point,
it should be noted that the beginning of months unto us neither depends on the
ripening of “barley” nor the “Dark Phases” of the moon. Nowhere

THE FOLLOWING IS A SPECIAL REPORT THAT WILL
HOPEFULLY SHED MORE LIGHT ON THE
ISSUE OF WHEN TO START EACH NEW MONTH AND EACH NEW YEAR:
HOW SHOULD ISRAELITES
DETERMINE
THE START OF EACH NEW MONTH?
AND
WHEN IS
THE HEBREW NEW YEAR
EXPECTED TO BEGIN?
“He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.”
Psalm 104:19
“Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun

and the ordinances of the moon and of the

Jeremiah 31:35,36
Not only is a New Month upon
us, but so also is a New Year and Passover, as well, and unfortunately, we are
still at odds concerning how Israelites are to determine the start of each New
Hebrew Month and our Hebrew New Year. For sure, it is our fault and not the fault
of the CREATOR that we don’t realize the start of our months and years because
HE has certainly given us ample information in order for us to realize when to
start each new month and each Hebrew New Year.
There is not even the slightest suggestion that our forefathers suffered
this problem, so why do we?
Some Israelites would say that “The beginning of months” is upon us
upon finding mature barley anywhere in
“Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.” Deuteronomy 28:38
“If there be dearth in the
land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or
caterpillers;…” II Chronicles
“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts
to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;” II Chronicles
Those, like myself who beg to differ with this “Barley Sighting” concept, assert that neither barley nor any other plant can be a factor in association with the start of our Hebrew New Year, as this method is flawed and not practical. The key and most important reason for rejecting “Barley Sighting” as basis for determining the New Year is that the CREATOR GOD is clear on how to decide on our seasons, days, and years. And neither barley nor any other “plant” is mentioned as a means to do so.
“And God said, Let there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Genesis 1:14 [Caps. are mine.]
Now, I’ve been told that I do not understand this verse. The fact of the matter is that this verse should be taken literally and without interpretation, as it certainly does not need one. I view this verse as being crystal clear, and to reject any part of it is to diminish from what the CREATOR has Commanded of us. If we do not use the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens for “SIGNS” to determine our months, then we are not just adding to and diminishing the Commandment in Genesis 1:14, but we are changing GOD’s Ordinance. And in doing so, we bring upon ourselves much confusion. Hence, we must accept what’s written and use the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens for “SIGNS” for our seasons, days, and years. The CREATOR GOD of Israel did not leave us Psalm 104:19 for naught.
“He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.”
It is my understanding from what’s written in Genesis 1:14 that there are to be LIGHTS in the Heavens for SIGNS. And I am particularly reminded that these “LIGHTS” are interpreted “luminaries,” of which I do quite agree, as both the sun and the moon shine. However, the sun emits its own “Light.” And although the moon also shines, please understand that it can only do so because of the sun’s reflection that causes it to shine. Keep in mind that if there were no sun, then the moon would never shine. It’s these luminaries (“SIGNS”) in the Heavens that enable us to depict seasons, days, and years:
The fact that the CREATOR gives/uses “SIGNS” for us to “see,” is evident that we must be able to sight something in the Heavens. And the luminaries – the “LIGHTS” of the sun and moon - are the “SIGNS” we must use for our seasons, days, and years.
Webster’s New Collegiate Definition of luminary:
“a source of light or illumination; a body that gives light: esp : one of the celestial bodies: a person brilliantly outstanding in some respect”
If the sun, moon, and the stars
are the “LIGHTS” or “luminaries” in the Heavens that we are Commanded to use
for “SIGNS,” how then can anyone suggest using the “Conjunction” or “Dark
Phase” of the moon for the First Day of the month, when absolutely nothing at
all is visible for a “SIGN” at this time of the month? Why have a
The Stars are also a factor in determining our seasons. The CREATOR provides us with a new starlight wonder each month in HIS Heavens for us to also use for determining our seasons, days, and years.
“Throughout the ages, mankind has looked to the heavens and tried to
make sense of the lights in the sky. The ancient peoples of the world
thought they could see pictures in the stars. These chance alignments of stars,
also known as asterisms, are known as today constellations. Many ancient
cultures around the world have assigned pictures to these star groupings. Many
of these images find their roots shrouded in mythology. In our modern world, it
can be difficult to make out the shapes of the constellations because city
lights obscure the dimmer stars. But they are still used to help identify and
locate objects in space. There are currently 88 main constellations recognized
by the astronomical community. Here we will explore these constellations and
identify the major points of interest within each. They are often grouped according to the month in which they are best
visible. These monthly listings assume that you are looking at the sky at
As previously mentioned, the
“conjunction” is a reference of the moon when it is not visible, i.e., the time of month when the moon is at its “Dark
Phases.” It is at this time (the “Dark
Phases” of the moon) when many Israelites start the First Day of the New Month
rather than wait until the “Sighting” of the
According to those who use the “Conjunction” of the moon for the First Day of the month, this “Dark Phase” of the moon is the “SIGN” in the Heavens for our First Day of the Month and not the “Lighted Crescent.”
Those of us who adhere to using the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens for a “Sign” for our days await the “Sighting” of the Crescent Moon. Otherwise, we are not following the CREATOR’s Commandment. And without question those who admit to using the “Conjunction” or rather the “Dark Phase” of the moon to call the First Day of the Month are certainly not following what’s written to use the “LIGHTS” for “SIGNS” for seasons, days, and years.
Another issue is in regard to the word “Abib.” From what I understand, some Israelites feel that this word refers to “the green / the young ear” plants of barley or perhaps some other plant. And when mature barley is “Sighted,” then that month starts the Hebrew New Year.
In Exodus 13:4, the "Hebrew" is worded “in month the
hahaviv.” Well, if you have ever studied
Hebrew, the first thing you learn is that it is not to your advantage to
interpret Hebrew the way English is spoken.
Accordingly, the “hah” before a Hebrew noun or pronoun can in fact mean
“the” or “this,” but in many, many other cases, “hah” before a word does not
translate into anything. One example is

My point being, “the abib” or “hah aviv” does not have to mean “the month of the Abib,” or a reference to a “condition,” as I have been told. Exodus 13:4 could very well translate in Hebrew to read the following: “This day, you came out in the month of Abib” (Spring), which changes the whole picture, making “Abib” a “month of Spring” and not a “condition” or a reference to a “tender or green” plant. It makes no sense to use a plant to determine a time of the year when the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens are for “SIGNS” and for “Seasons.” And I, personally, cannot go beyond what’s written.
“And God said, Let there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Genesis 1:14 (Caps. are mine.)
“Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the SUN FOR A LIGHT BY DAY, and the ordinances of the MOON AND OF THE STARS FOR A LIGHT BY NIGHT, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.” Jeremiah 31:35 (Caps. are mine.)
Therefore, the LIGHTED “Ordinances” of the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis 1:14) in their exceptional positions in the Heavens at the same time each year (during the onset of Spring) denote the “beginning of months” unto us or rather the start of our Hebrew New Year. And for the CREATOR GOD of Israel to demonstrate so much concern for these Ordinances to have their places in the Heavens for all to see as a “Sign” should explain to us just how necessary it is for HIS Wondrous LIGHTS to shine for all mankind to witness and credit HIM for this phenomena.
I would also like to note that for some Hebrew words, there are no
English translations and vice versa. For
example, there is no “of” to be translated from English to Hebrew (see the “of”
in Numbers
I have listed verses that make mention of “Abib” below in an effort to clarify exactly what’s meant by “in the month Abib”:
1.
“This day came ye out in the month Abib.” Exodus 13:4
2.
“Thou shalt keep the feast of
unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded
thee, in the time appointed of the month

“Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy
God: for in the month of Abib the
LORD thy God brought thee forth out of
Personally, I can see nothing here that makes any reference to plants. And why should it? The CREATOR Commanded us to use the “LIGHTS” (luminaries) in the Heavens for “SIGNS” to determine our seasons, days, and years. Therefore, we must use Genesis 1:14 as a means to decipher the above Scripture. Therefore, I have again listed 1 – 4 and highlighted the definitive words and presented an interpretation for a better understanding of these passages.
It is my understanding that Abib is a reference to the Spring SEASON and not to “green” “ears.”
1.
“This day came ye out in the month Abib.” Exodus 13:4
This day came ye out in the month of the Spring Season, i.e., the “beginning of months unto you.”
2.

“In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.” Numbers 9:2,3
Now, isn’t that odd? The CREATOR
made no mention of “Abib” here, but rather “SEASON”! In
this passage HE is now Commanding that we observe Passover in its APPOINTED
SEASON! Hence, this is my reason for
interpreting “Abib” to mean Spring “SEASON.”
Our seasons: Spring, Summer,
Autumn, and Winter Solstice can only be determined by the “LIGHTS” in the
Heavens (Genesis
“… in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from
“Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his SEASON from year to year.” Exodus 13:10
“But at the place which the LORD
thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the
passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the SEASON that thou camest forth out of
These passages adhere to making Genesis 1:14 our determining factor for defining the “seasons, days, and years,” i.e., the start of the “beginning of months unto you” or rather the start of our Hebrew New Year.
3.

Observe the “beginning of months

This verse cannot be about observing the month of “green” “ears,” as there are Firstfruits and Ingathering harvests of green produce throughout the year. And to use “Aviv” for produce just does not make sense, especially when the CREATOR has provided the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens specifically for “SIGNS” to denote Seasons, Days, and Years.
Thus, the reason for my understanding that “Aviv/Abib” has much to do with the (Spring) “Season” - “the beginning of months unto us,” which is readily determined by the “LIGHTS” in the Heavens.
If we are TORAH Hebrews, then we have no choice but to follow GOD’s LAW, as it is written and without adding to it to confuse the issue. Genesis 1:14 needs no barley to support and make this Commandment of using the “Lights” in the Heavens credible and able to stand alone for the sake of doing exactly what the CREATOR said:
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Genesis 1:14
Just because some of us do not
fully understand this verse that is no reason to assume it does not supply us
with sufficient information for determining Seasons, Days, and Years. I have been maintaining a Hebrew Calendar now
for seven years now, and I never once went in search of barley in
It’s wonderful to study Hebrew, but not if we are going to use it to change and ADD to what THUS SAITH THE LORD, for then for sure we create problems for ourselves and fall short of the CREATOR’s expectations of us.
Given Genesis 1:14, there has got to be great significance for the Holy ONE positioning the sun, moon, and stars (LIGHTS) so dynamically in the Heavens once a year for us to stand as witnesses for HIS Creation: Seasons, Days, Years.
We need to know why the “sun” crosses directly over the Earth's equator at the time of the Spring
Equinox and rises in the east and travels through the sky for 12 hours and sets
in the west.
We
need to know why the moon positions itself in the sky in a different phase
every night, excluding the days it is in its “Dark Phase,” when it cannot be
seen for 1-3 nights.
We
need to know why (stars) a certain “constellation” is only visible in March at
What other reason could it be except for us to know “the Beginning of months” unto us? These phenomena are not for naught.
This concept is in keeping with Genesis
I am ashamed to say that we, as Hebrew Israelites, have so many differences, when there really is no reason for them. Once we make it up in our minds to follow GOD’s LAW and HIS WORD to HIS Prophets, then there need be no confusion. O that we had the minds of a computer. People think computers to be very intelligent, but in actually, they are dumb as doornails. Computers are programmed to do various functions, otherwise they would be useless. If we were so programmed like a computer but to follow GOD’s Book of the Law, as it is written, then there would be no confusion about when a day begins, when the Seventh Day Sabbath begins, how we should keep it, and/or when to determine our New Year and the start of our Hebrew Months.
“Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.” Deuteronomy 29:9
“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to
do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn
not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper
withersoever thou goest.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:7,8
“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause:
yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath
pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
“…my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.” Psalm 35:27,28

Because this
TORAH READINGS Calendar is determined by the
New Moon “Sighting” on or after the Spring equinox each year, it is a solar
calendar consisting of approximately
365 days. And because the months of this Hebrew
Calendar are determined by each New Moon “Sighting,” i.e., the “LIGHT” in the
firmament that poses as the “SIGN” for days, it is a lunar calendar. Therefore,
our Hebrew Calendar must be a solar/lunar calendar, if we are to observe the
“beginning of months” every Spring and in its season each new year.

HOLY FEAST DAYS, NEW MOONS, AND SABBATHS OF REST:
This TORAH Readings Hebrew Calendar focuses
on the Holy Feast Days, New Moons, and Sabbath Days of Complete Rest because
these are days that we must proclaim to be “holy convocations,” i.e., days that
we must keep "Holy".
Leviticus 23rd
Chapter outlines GOD’s Holy Feast Days that HE Commanded the Nation of Israel
to observe and do. It should be made
perfectly clear that EVERY “DAY” begins
in the evening (Genesis 1st Chapter) and NOT

THE CREATOR's HOLY SEVENTH
DAY OF COMPLETE REST
The Sabbath Day of Rest is probably the
most controversial Holy Day that we have – even though it is the easiest of all
to observe. Some argue that we can't
keep the Seventh Day Sabbath in
This TORAH
“See, for that
the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day
the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of
his place on the seventh day.” Exodus
16:29
"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy
pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD,
honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine
own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
"Then
shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the
high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father:
for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
Isaiah 58:13,14
Israelites have no choice in the
matter. We are compelled to “abide ye in
your place on the Seventh Day,” keep it Holy, Rest and Refresh ourselves, and
keep this day as a “Sign” between the Holy ONE of
On this TORAH READINGS Calendar, the Seventh Day Sabbaths do not alternate throughout the year from one day of the week to the next, as do some Israelite calendars. On this Calendar, GOD’s Sabbaths of COMPLETE REST fall every single Seventh Day (“Saturday”) without fail just as the CREATOR initially planned it in the BEGINNING and without skipping a Seventh Day at the end of the month to provide for the First Day (New Moon) of the month. Making the First Day of the month the First Day of the week is what causes the seventh days (of rest) to swing, throughout the year, from one day of the week to another. This routine proves itself to be in err and a grave mistake when at the end of the month, nine and ten days separate the last “day of rest” from the next “day of rest.” This manner of making the First Day of the month, the First Day of the week is as much against GOD’s LAW as is the White Jewish Calendar that manipulates the Holy Days.
This TORAH READINGS Calendar recognizes
GOD’s Seventh Day Sabbath as being
“Holy” (since its inception, as of Genesis 2:2,3) and a “Sign” (Exodus
31:16,17) between the Holy ONE of Israel and HIS People whether we are in the
land or not. There is documented
information that Pope Gregory, III changed the days on the calendar, but never
has the sequence of the seven days of the week ever been changed, ALL PRAISES DUE TO THE CREATOR, THE HOLY

It should be
realized that the Children of Israel not only kept the Sabbath of Rest in the
Wilderness, but they also kept Passover there, as well (Numbers 9:5). Hence, indeed we can and must keep the Seventh Day of Rest in our
enemies’ lands or wherever we reside.
Indisputably, Deuteronomy 30th Chapter is explicit regarding what it takes for the Holy ONE of Israel to cause our return:”
“And it shall
come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the
curse, which I have set before thee, and THOU
SHALT CALL THEM TO MIND AMONG ALL THE NATIONS, WHITHER THE LORD THY GOD HATH
DRIVEN THEE.
“And shalt RETURN UNTO THE LORD THY GOD, and shalt OBEY HIS VOICE according to ALL that I COMMAND THEE THIS DAY, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
“That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.” Deuteronomy 30:1,2
“Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
“But IF YE TURN UNTO ME, AND KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, AND DO THEM; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.” Nehemiah 1:8,9
“If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,)
and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry
them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; Yet if they shall
bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent,
and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives,
saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the
land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward
their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast
chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name: Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy
dwelling place, and maintain their cause, And forgive thy people that have
sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have
transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried
them captive, that they may have compassion on them: For they be thy
people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from
the midst of the furnace of iron: That
thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the
supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call
for unto thee. For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the
earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy
servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of
Thus, it is quite clear that the Holy ONE did not mean for us to WAIT until we returned to our heritage to keep HIS Holy Seventh Day of Rest. And HE did not intend for us to wait until we returned to our heritage before returning unto HIM and HIS Law in Righteousness. Other passages that are indisputable are as follows:
“And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD
thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all
thy soul.
“When thou art
in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter
days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God,
and SHALT BE OBEDIENT UNTO HIS VOICE;” Deuteronomy 4:27,29,30
“Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.” Nehemiah 1:8,9
At present,
there are some Laws we cannot keep (Levitical Sacrifices), but the Sabbath Day
of Rest is one that we can all observe, i.e., if it is our desire to do so.
“And
the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I
will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have
written; that thou mayest teach them.” Exodus 24:12
“Behold,
I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me,
that ye should DO SO IN THE LAND whither ye go to possess it.”
Deuteronomy 4:5 (Caps. are mine.)
The Israelite Way of Life was set in stone
in the Wilderness, as to how we are Commanded to prepare to live
according to ALL GOD’s LAW,
as well as for HIS Holy Seventh Day Sabbath of Complete REST, i.e., how we are
supposed to keep it, as well as the consequences for profaning
it. And there are no exceptions.
Too many
Israelite leaders observe GOD’s Sabbath Day of Rest according to their
understanding and not according to what’s written in GOD’s Book of the
Law. The Holy Sabbath Day of Rest is
just that – a day for all of us to
“Rest,” sleep, eat, read, and be refreshed without use of the
microwave, television, radio, computers, broadcasts, tapes, strolling, teaching
Hebrew, entertaining, traveling, and most definitely without working. All of GOD’s Laws of the Sabbath Day of Rest
are clear on exactly how we are to keep this Seventh Day: Exodus
16:29; Exodus 31:12 - 18; Isaiah 58:13,14; Nehemiah 13:19; and Jeremiah
17:21,22.
In that the Seventh Day is a Day of “Complete REST,” we cannot do on this day the things we ordinarily do on the other six days of the week, as this is forbidden. We just cannot continue to profane GOD’s Sabbath Day of Rest. This Seventh Day is SPECIAL and is to be kept HOLY unto the LORD and to be kept exactly as our forefathers were Commanded to keep it in the Wilderness, or we will pay the consequences – death!
Regarding “holy convocation,” that
people seem to believe means a “call to assemble,” please know that one is hard
pressed to find where “holy convocation” means to gather or to assemble on the
Sabbath of Complete REST. I firmly
believe “holy convocation” followed by “no manner of work shall be done” is
interpreted, “call this a holy day on which no manner of work is to be done” IN
ALL YOUR DWELLINGS. In other words,
wherever we “dwell” we are to abide there and “Rest” on GOD’s Holy Sabbath Day
of “Rest.” We do not dwell in GOD’s
According to the “Hebrew” Scriptures, “holy convocation” is written meekrah kodesh (not to be confused with chodesh/month). Meekrah: reading matter; Bible; recitation; and convocation, as well as “call” and “called.” Kodesh: holiness, sanctify; holy place according to Ehud Ben-Yehuda / David Weinstein’s Pocket English-Hebrew / Hebrew-English Dictionary.
Clearly – CLEARLY there are differences in the usage of these verbs: to call (meek-rah) and to gather/assemble (ah-sahf, kah-batz, and ah-tzah-rah). All one need do is sit with someone with knowledge of Hebrew and go through the LAW and the other Scriptures of the “Old Testament” and see the differences in the meanings of the verb “to call” (“to give a name to” or “to make a request or demand”) and the verb “to gather together” and/or “to assemble” the people.
There are many passages that make mention of “Solemn Assembly,” and I urge you to read them in Hebrew for a better understanding of knowing the differences in what the Scriptures meant by “Holy Convocation” and calling a “Solemn Assembly.” Please read the following Scripture for further enlightenment: Leviticus 23:36; Numbers 29:35; Deuteronomy 16:8; II Kings 10:20; II Chronicles 7:9; Nehemiah 8:18; Joel 1:14; and Joel 2:15.
In this same regard, please consider Joel 2:15 that is most definitely speaking about a “call” to assemble, but yet differs from the “holy convocation” in Leviticus 23:3 that people choose to believe is a Commandment to assemble on GOD’s Holy Sabbath Day of Rest despite HIS Commandment to “abide ye every man in his place on the seventh day.”
“Blow the
trumpet in
If the above
verse had been written along with Leviticus 23:3, there would be no question
that Our GOD wants us to “assemble” on the Seventh Day Sabbath. But it isn’t there! Hence,
we must call this day “Holy,” do absolutely no work, and permit our bodies to “REST” and be refreshed on every
Seventh Day.
Further evidence that “holy convocation”
DOES NOT mean to assemble is that we are told that Passover is a “holy
convocation” but yet, we are Commanded to observe this High Holy Day with our
immediate family (in each one's house) and only to join with another family if the
members are too few for the lamb (Exodus 12:3,4). This proves that “holy convocation” does not
mean to assemble, but rather to keep the Feast days “HOLY.” Some Israelites call attention to the fact
that because Israelites were Commanded to ”…turn in the morning and go into
their tents” (Deuteronomy 16:5-7) that
this is proof of an assembly. Those
Israelite families that joined with others are the ones GOD Commanded to return
to their tents.
The Holy ONE of
It would
indeed appear to be acceptable that the Sabbath is for coming together to
worship YIHOVAH, but that’s not what GOD
HIMSELF has ordained. HE said to stay in our place and rest on this
Holy Day. Hence, we are to keep this
day Holy and do no manner of work, walking, or assembling but rather “REFRESH” ourselves as Our GOD of
Israel COMMANDS us to do. Therefore,
getting dressed and traveling to a
meeting place on GOD’s Holy Sabbath is not only a real hassle but is without a
doubt breaking HIS Law – not to mention that paying tolls or fares for public
transportation to get there is an even greater sin. The wise will not permit ANYONE to entice
them to err. Know GOD’s LAW for yourselves,
and make sure that you fully understand exactly what we must do accordingly and
as it is written, which means to ”obey
the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which
I command thee this day” (Deuteronomy 27:10). Unequivocally, we must return to Our Holy ONE
of Israel and return to the teachings of Moses – not what we assume, not what
folks are so-called “inspired” to do, and not what’s according to the
imaginations of our evil hearts but precisely
as GOD’s Prophet Moses was Commanded to teach us.
“He [King Hezekiah] trusted in the LORD God
of
“For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, WHICH THE LORD COMMANDED MOSES.” II Kings 18:5,6
Therefore, we, too, must adhere to what the Holy ONE Commanded Moses to teach us, which in this case is about abiding in our places on HIS Holy Sabbath Day of Rest.
“And the LORD
said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to
keep my commandments and my laws?
“See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; ABIDE YE EVERY MAN IN HIS PLACE ON THE SEVENTH DAY.” Exodus 16:28,29
These two
verses tell us to prepare our Sabbath Day of Rest “meal” on the Sixth Day
before sundown, and stay in our places on the Seventh Day for its observance in
Righteousness. And the following verse
reminds us again to keep HIS Sabbath Day of Rest “as I commanded your fathers,” i.e., according to Exodus
“Neither carry
forth a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, neither do ye any work,
but HALLOW YE THE SABBATH DAY, as I
commanded your fathers.”
Jeremiah
“But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the Sabbath day, and not to bear burden, EVEN ENTERING IN AT THE GATES OF JERUSALEM ON THE SABBATH DAY; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.” Jeremiah 17:27
Living by the LAW is the ONLY Way the Nation of Israel can be governed and can live Righteously.
Accordingly, if the future King of Israel, the SEED of the renown King David, will be obedient to observe “ALL” of GOD’s Book of the Law and live by it (AS He IS COMMANDED), use Righteous Judgment (Jeremiah 33:15), and reign to EXALT the GOD of Israel, then unequivocally, he will enforce the COMMANDMENT to “abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
If “ALL” GOD’s COMMANDMENTS are sure, then for sure, we must give
credence to Exodus
“He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.” Psalm 111:7
GOD’s Holy Sabbath Day of REST is not only one of HIS Greatest WORKS of
all time, but this Holy Day is an extraordinary ANNIVERSARY and “SIGN” between
this Most High GOD, the CREATOR and HIS Chosen People, the Children of Israel!
“Wherefore the children of

Perhaps the wise thing to do
would be to define the word “burden.”
But more importantly, we need to determine whether or not Exodus

Why must we debate that which is clearly written for us to do and for
very good reason, if we will only consider and think about it? The
Holy ONE wants us to be first to observe HIS weekly Anniversary of Creation,
which is to keep HIS Holy Seventh day at REST, as HE did, in order that we
might be REFRESHED!
“In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.” Jeremiah 33:15
Neither will this King who will be established by the All-Mighty GOD of Israel pick and choose nor add to or diminish from GOD’s LAW. And not under any circumstances will he be influenced to follow the imaginations of his heart. But rather, he will insure that GOD’s Book of the Law will be respected, honored, and lived for GOD’s Holy Name’s Sake, and for the sake of HIS Righteousness and Peace on GOD’s Earth.
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto
David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute
judgment and justice in the earth." Jeremiah 23:5
It will be in the king’s heart to follow, do, and enforce GOD’s Book of the Law and Judge Righteously, so that people will keep it, as it is WRITTEN in order that those who remain after “The Day of the LORD” will serve the Holy ONE of Israel with “ONE CONSENT” (Zephaniah 3:9).
“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.” Isaiah 11:1 - 5
“And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
“That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.” I Kings 2:3,4
“And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
“Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and

“And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
“And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of
his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of
this law and these statutes, to do them:
“That his heart be not lifted up
above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of
“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do ALL the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Some
Israelites feel that it was acceptable to travel to
Significantly, in the beginning when the Holy ONE of Israel established this Sabbath Day of COMPLETE REST and when HE clearly COMMANDED the Children of Israel in the Wilderness to observe this Holy Day, HE MADE NO EXCEPTIONS!
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” Genesis 2:1 - 3
“And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake today, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
“See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” Exodus 16:23,29
The wise, obedient ones understand the great importance of observing this Seventh Day of Rest exactly as GOD Commanded and will not add to or diminish from this Law of the “Blessed,” “Sanctified,” and “Holy” Seventh Day Sabbath.
If we are to
be a light to the World to Exalt the Most High GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob, FROM JERUSALEM then we must exemplify GOD’s Word as it is written in HIS Book of the Law. YIHOVAH
won’t have it any other way! This is
the only way that we can become the Righteous Ones who will reflect GOD’s Righteous
Ways, i.e., be the Remnant that will be found worthy that YIHOVAH will call
(Joel 2:32). These are the Ones who will
have GOD’s LAW and HIS Spirit in their hearts.
These are the Ones who will usher in GOD’s
And if we are
to represent the Most High GOD of Abraham, we have no choice but to keep,
proclaim, teach, live, and do GOD’s LAW, again, as best we can. One would think that as much as we have
suffered and as hard as we must labor at work and at home, that we would be too
happy to “Rest” on GOD’s Holy Sabbath Day.
Not so! Some of us will drive our
cars and even take public transportation on GOD’s Seventh Day, profaning HIS
Holy Seventh Day, and think that they are pleasing the Holy ONE of Israel.
Where is the FEAR OF THE LORD GOD OF
There is a “correct” time, manner, and WAY
to serve and worship YIHOVAH, and HE explained all this to us when our
forefathers were in the Wilderness and nothing Our GOD Commanded of us has changed
since that time, thus GOD’s reason for saying “as I commanded your fathers.” Coming out of
Saul lost the Kingdom all because he
thought it would be all right for him to do a good deed - to offer a burnt offering
in making supplication to the Holy ONE of Israel. Think about this: what could be greater than
to give Thanks and Praise to the GOD of Israel for HIS Mercy and Help in a time
of need? Isn’t this what Saul did when
he offered his sacrifice unto GOD? But
Saul went against GOD’s Commandment.
It’s the duty of the Priests to conduct offerings and sacrifices: Exodus
27th through 29th Chapters. And notice what Samuel told Saul after he
took it upon himself to sacrifice to the Holy ONE of
“…Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt
offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold,
to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” I Samuel 15:22,23
Another incident that was done in good faith but proved to be a grave mistake was when Uzzah did not heed GOD’s Commandment that the Levites should take charge of all things pertaining to HIS Ministry (Numbers 1:50,51). Uzzah, who was not a Levite, “put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it,” and after doing so, GOD killed him (II Samuel 6:6,7).
Therefore, let’s think about all that we decide to do on GOD’s Holy Sabbath Day of Rest because we really should not be doing too much of anything except to “Rest,” read, eat, and sleep. As we know breaking GOD’s Holy Seventh Day of Complete REST is punishable by death! And if our leaders advise us to do otherwise, i.e., to drive/travel to “assemble” on the day that Our Holy ONE of Israel tells us to “Rest,” then they feed us the thoughts of their hearts and not GOD’s Word from HIS Book of the Law.
“But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.” Jeremiah 7:23
How is it possible that “holy convocation” can cause so much confusion? In my opinion it all has to do with translation and interpretation. Consider the following information I found in a book entitled World Religions From Ancient History to the Present, pp. 423, which certainly explains the reason for the discrepancy in this term:
“The
word ‘church’ (ecclesia) means ‘an assembly of people.’ It was used in the Greek Septuagint version
of the Old Testament to translate the Hebrew word for the assembly,
congregation, or people of God.”
“Ecclesia was a word meaning "gathering of the called out ones"
(or on today's terms "church") in many contexts in Ancient Greek, giving
rise to many derivatives (e.g. Spanish iglesia, "church"), and can refer to:
Ecclesia (Church), the Christian Church, which is composed of Ecclesia Militans
(the "Church Militant"), and Ecclesia Triumphans (the "Church
Triumphant").
Ecclesia (ancient
Ecclesia (sociology of religion), a concept in the typology
of religion.
The Ecclesia, the healing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecclesia
As well, it should come as a surprise that “holy convocation” is only mentioned in Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers and not in any other books of the “Old Testament.”
Note also:
“Septuagint
- What is It?
Septuagint
(sometimes abbreviated LXX) is the name given to the Greek translation of the
Jewish Scriptures. The Septuagint has its origin in
Septuagint
- Influence on Christianity
The
Septuagint was also a source of the Old Testament for early Christians during
the first few centuries AD. Many early Christians spoke and read Greek, thus
they relied on the Septuagint translation for most of their understanding of
the Old Testament. The New Testament writers also relied heavily on the
Septuagint, as a majority of Old Testament quotes cited in the New Testament
are quoted directly from the Septuagint (others are quoted from the Hebrew
texts). Greek church fathers are also known to have quoted from the Septuagint.
Even today, the Eastern Orthodox Church relies on the Septuagint for its Old
Testament teachings. Some modern Bible translations also use the Septuagint
along side Hebrew manuscripts as their source text.”

For those who, for whatever unbelievable reason, find it difficult to trust wholeheartedly in the Most High GOD of Israel and HIS Book of the Law, then wait until HE gives us Pastors according to HIS Heart:
“Turn, O
backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I
will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to
“AND I WILL GIVE YOU PASTORS ACCORDING TO MINE HEART, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:14,15
Until that time, seek GOD’s Counsel and
live by HIS Book of the Law AS IT IS WRITTEN for then we CANNOT go wrong!
